Guest guest
The hand does not require washing after sipping caranamrta, since caranamrta purifies the lips and therefore the lips do not contaminate the hand. The Agastya-samhita states: "The water that has washed the lotus feet of Lord Visnu or a pure Vaisnava is equal to the combined waters of all the places of pilgrimage. After drinking such caranamrta, one does not need to take acamana or wash his hands and mouth." If, however, you are going to touch the sastra or similarly worshipable objects after taking caranamrta, you should rinse your hand with water.
