If we > think that Srila Prabhupada has his own siddhanta, then we misrepresent > him. Dear Maharaja. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I'm writing to you as organizer of conference Prabhupada Siddhanta Study Group. We already changed the name once. Original proposed name was "Prabhupada Research Group". Then we were noted, that Srila Prabhupada didn't want, that we use word research, as it implies, that truth is unknown, and needs to be researched. As per personal advice of Hari Sauri Prabhu, we changed the name to "Prabhupada Siddhanta Study Group", which was his personal proposal. I am more that ready to change the name immediately to anything else, just to avoid any discomfort from the side of devotees. I wish, that any devotee, who feels obliged to study Srila Prabhupada's words and present them to others, would feel most at home in this conference. If the name of conference is impediment to that in any way, I will change it in a second. We thought about many names. After pointing out that the use of word "research" is improper, we had some discussion about the name. The point of "Prabhupada Siddhanta" implying, that Srila Prabhupada had his own, independent siddhanta, also came out. But in the end there was just few suggestions, and there was no unanimous agreement on the name. Always something was missing, it was hard to express purpose clearly in few words of title. Therefore I just cut through and decided to use "Prabhupada Siddhanta Study Group". I was considering, that we cannot go wrong with this name, because it was personally suggested by Hari Sauri Prabhu. But personally, I still feel that "Prabhupada Research Group" better describes the intended purpose of conference. The point was, that I wanted to make it clear, that conference is ment for studying Srila Prabhupadas words. No other sampradaya branch, just the one coming through Srila Prabhupada. Therefore I used "Prabhupada". Then I wanted to use word "research", to imply that modern ISKCON may be loosing contact with original message, because of westernization and other influences, and that message needs to be researched, before properly propagated. And "group" implies, that it is a group, so that nobody would feel too threatened by possible "fossil", "frozen in 70s", "fanatical" and "conservative" opinions expressed in the conference. Now, I'm willing to change the name in any possible way (length of conference title is limited). But I'm a bit out of ideas. Please, any idea is welcome. If you can just say the name, that you would be pleased with, I will change immediately to that. thank you your servant Giri-nayaka das BVS
