Guest guest
[Much of this text is copied from my similar announcement of last year] Dear Devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. With this text I'm announcing a 'hibernation' period for the Mayapurlive conference. It was specifically intended for the transcription of the Srimad Bhagavatam lectures during the Festival and this purpose has now been served. Those of you with Economy PAMHO accounts with conference restrictions might like to remove yourselves from Mayapurlive. You can always rejoin before the 2005 Mayapur Festival, when I would hope, with your encouragement and blessings, to be able to renew the transcription service. Till then, we may occasionally post or forward interesting and relevant texts. For your information, the general procedure we adopted for the transcription was to set up our laptop next to the speaker by the side of Radha Madhava's stage and during the SB lecture speedily type as many sentences and passages as we could manage. It was quite intense, and even with the help of the laser fingers of my partner, Vidvan Gauranga Prabhu, we could only manage about 40% of the entire lecture, which, however, was an improvement from last year. Later in the day we would go over the audio file of the lecture and fill in all the gaps, phrase by phrase. Generally to complete this and scan the entire text for errors and typos would take about three hours, but on the days when class was particularly long, it could take up to five hours. We were also daily uploading the audio files of the lectures to the Internet. They were hosted on the www.mayapur.info and www.harekrishna.org.au; and also available via www.krishna.com/radio. We hope you relished the opportunity to read and hear the Srimad-Bhagavatam classes from the Mayapur Festival. The following devotees helped to make this possible and deserve mention: Vidvan Gauranga Prabhu -- helped greatly for the second year running with the "live" transcription. I struggled intensely on the few days he was unable to come! Anakadundubhi Prabhu from Italy: kindly gave me copies of the audio files of the lectures Matsya Avatara Prabhu from Govardhan: lent his MP3 recorder Kalavati Mataji of www.mayapur.info Manu Prabhu of Krishna.com Ekendra Prabhu of www.harekrishna.org.au and www.gopala.org Bhakta Ben from Chowpatty: transcribed HH Devamrta Swami's class Bhakta Gatin from the UK: transcribed HG Madhudvisa Prabhu's class Please offer your blessings to all these nice Vaisnavas and thus encourage them to help again next year! >From my side, I would like to also request your blessings and good wishes since, after many years as a brahmacari, I am just about to enter the grhastha-asrama. . . . The good news for you all is that the bride-to-be is an experienced transcriber herself! Hare Krishna. Your servant, Ananda Tirtha Das
