Guest guest
Dear Prabhus. Pamho. AgtSP. Is there any ISKCON definition about what means Unity in Diversity? Srila Prabhupada would usually refer to it in the folloeing way: ========== No one is independent. Every one of us is an expansion of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This accounts for unity in diversity. There are diverse manifestations, but, at the same time, they are one in Visnu. Everything is an expansion of Visnu's energy. >>> Ref. VedaBase => SB 4.7.54 ============ That philosophy holds that the Supreme Lord is simultaneously one with and different from His creation. That is to say, there is unity in diversity >>> Ref. VedaBase => Madhya 9.360 ========== ....the principle of unity in diversity, philosophically known as acintya-bhedabheda -- simultaneous oneness and difference... >>> Ref. VedaBase => Madhya 10.113 ========= >From any point of view, Krsna can resolve all problems. Why just the problems of Irishmen or Englishmen? All problems. That is called unity in diversity. >>> Ref. VedaBase => SSR 7e: An Awareness of What Is Best and Most Beautiful ========= But this phrase "Unity in DIversity" is also used in many socially oriented modern ISKCON seminars. I just cannot figure out what it refers to. Sometimes it is offered as a solution to all problems, but then it doesn't link to Krsna, but to some social/psychological methods. I have no idea of those things. Maybe somebody knows more and can say something? ====== The materialist without being able to adjust the varieties and the disagreements makes everything zero. They cannot come into agreement with varieties, but if we keep Krsna in the center, then there will be agreement in varieties. This is called unity in diversity. I am therefore suggesting that all our men meet in Mayapur every year during the birth anniversary of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. With all GBC and senior men present we should discuss how to make unity in diversity. >>> Ref. VedaBase => Letter to: Kirtanananda -- Bombay 18 October, 1973 ====== Is it discussed regularly? Any solutions, any results? ys gnd
