name of Prabhupada Research conference

Dear Hari Sauri Prabhu.

Please accept my humble obeisances.

All glories to Srila prabhupada.

 

We are in the process of creating two new conferences. One is "Prabhupada

Research Group", and second is "Prabhupada Research (Discussions &

Conclusions)". We were noted by Braja Sevaki Mataji, that use of word

"research" may not be proper, since Prabhupada himself "said that we already

have knowledge, we don't have to research it, and it's misleading." I would

like to ask you for your opinion and possible suggestions regarding change

of name, if you find it necessary.

 

Let me first explain what is the idea behind this two connected conferences.

In Slovenia we created discussion conference, where we discuss Prabhupada's

quotes in order to get strong understanding of what was Prabhupada's

conclusion. Our endeavour proved to be great source of inspiration.

 

Also we do not want to just discuss with no result. Therefore idea was that

we create "Prabhupada Research Group", which would work on conclusions of

debates, and present them in the form of papers and essays, which would be

available both in printed form and on internet page.

 

We are all greatly inspired by this project, so we quitely thought, that it

would be great, if such a thing would be available worldwide. To study

Prabhupada's opinions, discuss them within "Prabhupada Research (Discussions

& Conclusions)" untill it is well understood by members of conference, then

make conclusions within "Prabhupada Research Group" and post those

conclusions in form of essays on internet web page.

 

This would enable any devotee, who would be interested in certain subject,

to just dial-in to web page and get Prabhupada's opinion in condensed,

organized document form. Result would be similar to "Siksamrita", but

instead of selection of quotes, there would be also conclusions, for faster

and easier understanding.

 

We hope to be able to invite all Prabhupada's disciples in "Prabhupada

Research (Discussions & Conclusions)". We are hoping of highest-level

discussions, among all devotees who really know Prabhupada. We hope to be

able to provide our service of organizing conclusions and posting them, so

that they are available to all.

 

Actually, I can say, that our hope is to personally get clear understanding

of Srila Prabhupadas mission, and then present it to others, especially for

the future. The goal would be especially to systematize all appearantly

contradictory statements according to some system. We beleive, that it is

possible to resolve all contradictions by connecting them to proper angles

of view. Result should be clear and easily understood. It will take a lot of

research, connecting Prabhupada's quotes with understanding of his

disciples. We are aware, that this is a lifetime project, and we are ready

to go for it.

 

Therefore the name is "Prabhupada Research", because we will be mostly

actually researching Prabhupadas words, then discuss them, try to put them

in proper perspective according to different situations, systematize them,

make conclusions, and present them to others. But if word "research" is

improper, we can change the name. Maybe "Prabhupada Study (Group)" or

"Prabhupada Conclusions (Group)" or "Prabhupada Siddhanta (Group)"?

Personally I think that word "research" best describes our intended

endeavor.

will decide to join "Prabhupada <Research> (Discussions & Conclusions)" at

any point, in order to give your most valuable input.
