On Friday 24th June, two days after snan yatra, the head pujari from Mayapur

came to the Jagannath temple in Rajapur to repaint the deitys. The deitys

were laid on Their backs on warm bedding while he painted under Their bases,

at midnight he awoke feeling a burning sensation, he thought may be coming

from drinking Lord Jagannath maha medicine called bhramastra; he also felt

fearful which is very unsual for him. Thinking he may have caused an aparadh

by laying the main deitys down, he read the Bhagavad Gita for 1/2 hour.

In the morning the night gaurd reported that when at midnight he went to

check the temple area he heard what sounded like moaning and groaning with

broken breaths coming from within the temple. He walked around the other

side of the temple and from the open window he heard the same distressful

sounds. The gaurd said then he became afraid and ran away, locking the

garden gate behind him he returned to the guest house where the devotees

stay.

Jagannath Swami ki jay!
