How the Holy Gita was introduced? Series II

MIL, May 8, 2006. Swamy Raj Baldev

Keeping in view an all round deteriorating situation of life and

survival, Sage Narad Muni decided to get the Holy Gita composed,

containing all the commandments of Lord Krishna, delivered to Arjun

at the battle field of Kurukshetra.

To formalize the last ceremony of Lord Krishna's incarnation on the

13th day, Sage Narad Muni had invited all Saints and kings of

different States to participate on that occasion.

It was a great and last ceremony.  Several Sages participated and

collectively enchanted by Vedic mantras to complete the last rites,

and it is said that great many demi gods and angels had descended on

the Earth to shower their positive energy in the environment.

Sage Narad Muni had also invited Saint Ved Vyas to take part in the

last ceremony of Lord Krishna's incarnation and he was present at

the ceremony of last rites.

Sage Narad Muni submitted to Saint Ved Vyas with a suggestion that

he should recall all the commandments of Lord Krishna, which he had

delivered to Arjun at the battle of Kurukshetra and put them

together for the liberation of people on the Earth.

Here to remind that Saint Ved Vyas had full divine powers by the

blessings of Lord Vishnu by which he watched the entire war of

Mahabharata fought at Kurukeshtra battlefields and its surroundings.

It was the same Saint Ved Vyas who had temporarily transferred his

powers to his discipline Sanjay, who had narrated the entire

live-cast of the battle scenes and connected events of all the days

to Emperor Dhritrashtra, while sitting by his side at his palace.

Dhritrashtra was born blind but was made Emperor by the virtue of

circumstances, which went in his favor.

While addressing to Sage Narad Muni, Saint Ved Vyas said, "O Great

Sage of all the three worlds, how can I explain the "Virat

Roop" (Great Effulgence of the Godhead)? The only one who was

divinely privileged to see the Virat  Roop is Arjun.  He alone can

help me in defining and narrating what he saw in details."

Arjun who was also sitting by the side of Sarvshri Sage Narad Muni

and Saint Ved Vyas  said, " Rishivar, I am unable to recollect all

events in  detail, but whatever I remember I can describe."

Saint Ved Vyas said, " O Arjun, I want complete details to enable me

to put it in the Holy Gita and for that I shall peep into your eyes

with my mystic and divine powers. That shall enable you to recollect

the entire event, or else I may be able to see the affluence of the

Lord through your eyes."

Arjun said, " Reverend Saint Ved Vyas, Better you peep in to my eyes

to get the detailed glimpse of "Virat Roop" of  the Lord."

Saint Vyas said, " Arjun, Le me try through my mystic and divine

powers to look into your eyes to see the past events of Kurukshetra

battle along with the great glimpse of Godhead, the "Virat Roop",

which He had exhibited to you."

On Arjun's agreeing to that proposal, Saint Ved Vyas tried to

hypnotize Arjun's eyes but when the prelims of 'Virat Roop' started

appearing, the Saint collapsed all of a sudden.

It was beyond the divine capacity of Saint Vyas to face the most

glaring and scorching light and shininess of centillions of Suns and

Stars, his heart just sank, and he was dead.

Sage Narad Muni made all-out efforts by using his top and unfailing

spiritual powers, but he failed to revive Saint Vyas. There was

sadness all over. The people who had gathered there were stunned.

After his failure, Sage Narad Muni prayed to Lord Vishnu to show him

the way to give life to Saint Vyas. Lord Vishnu directed him to

approach Lord Ganesha to come to his rescue and revive Saint Vyas.

Sage Narad Muni then prayed to Lord Ganesha to ascend on the Earth

immediately to restore life to Saint Vyas to enable him to recollect

the whole commandments of Lord Krishna and His Virat Roop which He

had shown to Arjun, and to put them in writing in the Holy Gita.

Lord Ganesha appeared on the Earth and said," Respected Sage Narad,

I can revive the life of Saint Vyas but I am not that much empowered

even to guess what type of "Virat Roop" Lord Krishna had shown to

Arjun. No one in the Universe other than Arjan got an audience of

"Virat Roop", hence no one else can explain other than he.

Lord Ganesha restored the life to Saint Vyas and suggested to Arjun

to explain the Virat Roop.

Arjun while addressing to Lord Ganesha said, Reverend Lord, "I do

not have complete recollections of all the details of Virat Roop".

However, I pray to Lord Kirshna to bless me and put it in my memory

to recollect all the details of Virat Roop.  Arjun sat on his knees

and prayed to Lord Krishna to come to his rescue.

There was a thunder from the sky and shininess glazed all over, a

peculiar sort of divine smoke with fragrance filled the atmosphere

by which Arjun fell into swoon for a moment but immediately

regained.  He had regained a complete fresh memory to assist Saint

Ved Vyas to narrate all that had happened at the battlefield of

Kurukshetra and the details of the Virat Roop.
