Guest guest
Dear Iswari and All, It does depend on who you want to believe. But, IN GENERAL, it seems the worldwide research of the last three decades is pointing in the direction that vegetables and fruits have the most nutrients and healing powers( antioxidents; anti-aging; etc, etc ); add a little of seeds and nuts( especially flax and walnuts ) for the beneficial omega oils and you have everything you need. Perhaps, a little bit of legumes and grains for some extra calories especially if your lifestyle involves physical exertion daily. This is called the "Garden of Eden Diet" by some. Of the above, the GREEN LEAFY VEGETABLES, are the highest in the nutrients per calorie ratio. Greens not only contain a wide variety of nutrients but also a lot of proteins. If your body has forgoten how to produce B12, you should take some. If your are not getting enough sun, take some D. Now, specifically, concerning reproduction, I would advise a second opinion with www.drfuhrman.com where I think I recently saw some info on good results in this area. Dr. Fuhrman, MD says that it's not clear from the research alone that all animal products should be avoided 100% but he warns that the reseach is as strong as it is for lung cancern and cigarettes that all animal proteins( including dairy ) are linked with various types of cancers. Perhaps, it's the extensive pollution of the environment that gets accumulated in the animal's tissues? I was introduced to this basic diet, 36 years ago by reading "Mucusless Healing Diet" by Arnolnd Ehret. As long as I stuck to it, it helped me a lot. Unfortunately, I was sidetracked by various experiments with Superfoods, Macrobiotics, Ayurvedic, Chinees and Indian Restaurants all of which proved not so good for me. Now, I'm back on track with essentially same diet basic diet but with more knowledge( from all the vast worldwide research ) and confidence gained from Dr. Fuhrman MD, Dr. Gabriel Cousens MD and others. That's my story. Hope it helps someone. Amma Bless, amarnath PS ~ at Amma's Ashram and Programs I make some exceptions ~ it's Amma's Prasad.
