Guest guest
The standard Kali Yuga ending is 427,000 years from now. I think the other opinions are more recent feelings of various Saintly personages, and possibly also expressions of a system of sub cycles within the larger cycle. The more learned in Scripture, Sanskrit and Vedic Math can say more. das

Guest guest
Hello, Nothing to worry. I'm giving some information about Yugas according to ShriBhagvadGita and other books. In the beginning, the one and ONLY one God - Lord Vishnu created a small egg and it starts expanding slowly and slowly and after many years it exploded with a voice of "OM" and Lord Brahma comes out of it. (New scientists called it with another name - Big Bang Theory). The word "OM" is called the first word. That's why all the sacred mantras starts with "OM". Then, Lord Brahma started creating other lives - Devta, 9 planets, stars, Sun, Danav, Gandharv, Plants, Animals, Human and many other forms. This process is called MahaSarg. Lord Brahma has divided time into 4 Yugas 1st Yuga (Sat Yuga) - 17,28,000 sideral years 2nd Yuga (Treta yuga) - 12,96,000 sideral years 3rd Yuga (Dwapar Yuga) - 8,64,000 sideral years 4th Yuga (Kali Yuga) - 4,32,000 sideral years 1 Mahayuga (Total of 4 yugas) - 43,20,000 sideral years 1 Kalpa - 1,000 Mahayuga (43,20,000 x 1000 sideral years) 1 day of Brahma - 2 Kalpa (1 Kalpa day and 1 kalpa night) 1 Brahma Varsha (Year of Brahma) - 360 x 2 = 720 Kalpa Age of Brahma - 1,000 Brahma Varsha The life of Universe is said to be of 1000 Brahma Varsha. Currently, age of Lord Brahma is 92 years. Lord Vishnu takes avatar from time to time in every Yuga to retain the position of Dharma on earth. In this Yuga also, He will come slightly before the end of this yuga also (when about 800 years will left for this yuga). His name will be Kalika. He will again maintain Dharma on earth and after this Yuga, Sat Yuga will start with Kshatriya Dharma. After the completion of age of Lord Brahma, everything (Heaven, Hell, the whole universe) will merge into Lord Brahma and Lord Brahma will merge into Lord Vishnu. This process is called MahaPralya. Then on proper time, Lord Vishnu will create Lord Brahma and Lord Brahma will create life according to their previous Karmas. This cycle will go on and go on - forever. Only the souls, who have attain the state of Moksha goes out of this endless cycle and their soul merges with Lord Vishnu. So, let us do only good Karma and forget about the results. Guest guest
Greetings Here is some info on the Yuga cycles that should clear things up. The following is an excerpt from the Bhagavad Gita as it is 8.17. TEXT sahasra-yuga-paryantam ahar yad brahmano viduh ratrim yuga-sahasrantam te 'ho-ratra-vido janah SYNONYMS sahasra--thousand; yuga--millenniums; paryantam--including; ahah--day; yat--that; brahmanah--of Brahma; viduh--they know; ratrim--night; yuga--millenniums; sahasra-antam--similarly, at the end of one thousand; te--that; ahah-ratra--day and night; vidah--understand; janah--people. TRANSLATION By human calculation, a thousand ages taken together is the duration of Brahma's one day. And such also is the duration of his night. PURPORT The duration of the material universe is limited. It is manifested in cycles of kalpas. A kalpa is a day of Brahma, and one day of Brahma consists of a thousand cycles of four yugas or ages: Satya, Treta, Dvapara and Kali. The cycle of Satya is characterized by virtue, wisdom and religion, there being practically no ignorance and vice, and the yuga lasts 1,728,000 years. In the Treta-yuga vice is introduced, and this yuga lasts 1,296,000 years. In the Dvapara-yuga there is an even greater decline in virtue and religion, vice increasing, and this yuga lasts 864,000 years. And finally in Kali-yuga (the yuga that we have now been experiencing over the past 5,000 years) there is an abundance of strife, ignorance, irreligion and vice, true virtue being practically nonexistent, and this yuga lasts 432,000 years. In Kali-yuga vice increases to such a point that at the termination of the yuga the Supreme Lord Himself appears as the Kalki avatara, vanquishes the demons, saves His devotees, and commences another Satya-yuga. Then the process is set rolling again. These four yugas, rotating a thousand times, comprise one day of Brahma, the creator god, and the same number comprise one night. Brahma lives one hundred of such "years" and then dies. These "hundred years" by earth calculations total to 311 trillion and 40 billion earth years. By these calculations the life of Brahma seems fantastic and interminable, but from the viewpoint of eternity it is as brief as a lightning flash. In the Causal Ocean there are innumerable Brahmas rising and disappearing like bubbles in the Atlantic. Brahma and his creation are all part of the material universe, and therefore they are in constant flux. In the material universe not even Brahma is free from the process of birth, old age, disease and death. Brahma, however, is directly engaged in the service of the Supreme Lord in the management of the universe--therefore he at once attains liberation. Elevated sannyasis are promoted to Brahma's particular planet, Brahmaloka, which is the highest planet in the material universe and which survives all the heavenly planets in the upper strata of the planetary system, but in due course Brahma and all the inhabitants of Brahmaloka are subject to death, according to the law of material nature.
