dear sanjay,

you have been great on the super explanation of the

virgo/pisces axis.also the recitaion of the gayatri

mantra to help in this particular ailment.thank you so

much.one thing though confuses me, you write that it

should be recited on those particular days.

i recite it as and when i feel like, not making a

particular note of time or day of the week.

is it harmful, to recite or listen to this magical

mantra at any given time?

how about after midnight before sunrise?

please do make this very clear,if it makes a

difference

since we are on the topic of the mantra, please can you

send me the rajarajeshwari mantra?

still haven't got it!!!!

saturn+ moon can be very disturbing!!

thanks once again and thanks to karen too.

my sincere thanks to the gjlist for making these

discussions possible.

warm regards

rhoda

Dear Rhoda,

If anyone says that any time or day is inauspicious , then He/she is in

illusion. When Krishna Himself extolls its virtue as equalling Him among the

Mantras, then any time that is good enough to remember Bhagavan is fine, any

place that is good enough to remember Bhagavan is fine...Purity in the mind

is more important than body.

I was only requesting the minimum. The recitation in the Sandhya has a

more profound impact. There are a lot of details you can get these from my

book.

With Best Wishes,

Sanjay Rath

I have two questions about the saying of Mantras, and if I couldexplain why.1-

what effect can the saying of a mantra have on the people aroundyou? Isn't it

something you need to be careful about?2 - Can you say a mantra for someone

else? Only once have I said a mantra, jupiter, a year ago. The mantra wasin

James Braha's book and I used Valeie Roebuck's book to work onpronunciation (I

did not know anyone to ask or have internet accessat the time) I used my

fingers and a rainbow colored ribbon, leftover from somethings I made for my

grandchildren, sewn into a cirlceto keep count, After various tries I wound up

doing 3 sets of 108(picked 108 because it was 9X12), at least once, preferable 3

times aday. I had recently had a very tiny granddaughter born, who didn'teat or

sleep well. We spent some time visiting at her home and Iwould get up in the

morning, go sit outside on the back patio (whichhas a beautiful view of the

mountains and sky) and say my mantrawhile feeding her. When putting her down

(if my husband wasn't doingit), I would rock her in the bedroom while feeding

her and say mymantra. I contiued saying them until I completed the number

inBraha's book, not too sure why, but feeling I had made a promise Ihad to keep,

and usually remembering my granddaughter. It was twomonths before I saw her

again, and you wouldn't believe the change -we have 11 grandchildren in various

parts of the country, so I'm usedto major changes, but this was more - she was

healthier, ate better, sleep well. I've come to believe the mantra helped her

and was forher. If so, this was only through ignorance and luck; I could

haveeasily as have harmed her not knowing what I was doing. To say amantra over

a growing child out of ignorance was truely stupid. Thisfrightened me, and I

have not attempted to say a mantra since. so my two questions - effect one

others, and can you say a mantra forsomeone else?Thank you,Margaret--- In

I previously wrote a long and difficult note that in retrospect I'mjust as glad

did not come through, and would like to condense intoone question.Does the

reciting of a mantra affect other people around you, particuiarly in your

presence, which may or may not be beneficial tothem? That's probably two

questions.Thank you,Margaretgjlist , "Sanjay Rath"

Dear Margaret,

Why are you frightened? Because you actually saw His hand at work? You

are one of those few gifted ones who can actually pray for others. This is

so because you have a clean heart and a genuine desire to be of good help to

others. Do not be frightened. Initially I was also frightened with the

potency of the various mantra, but gradually learnt to live with these

forces. My life changed as i was never alone. I was always crowded with the

mantra Devata.

Yes, you can recite for others. Everybody can't do that. And yes the

mantras always work even if they have flaws in pronunciation if the faith is

strong and the heart is clean. This has been explicitly stated in Mantra

mahodadhih. Have you seen my recent work in this area? Vedic remedies in

Astrology...perhaps you will like the FAQ in it.

With Best Wishes,

Sanjay Rath
