Guest guest
Rashi-based aspects as outlined by Parashara work better than standard drishtis in varga charts. Comments? Guest guest
Dear Manas, I like your name... > Rashi-based aspects as outlined by Parashara work better than standard > drishtis in varga charts. Comments? Of course. Rashi dristies show the non-changing sitauation dristi. ALways dual dristis aspect each other( including grahas therein) while graha dristis are temporary, and grahas move, so from the moment of birth, grahas will move and influence natal chart.(tranist) Therefore, graha dristis indicate GRAHA desires to influence certain field. Whether this influence will come or not depend on the strength of graha etc. Rasi dristis are always there. These are not desires. Grahas from movable rashis will always aspect fixed rashis(apart from the nearest one) For example, guru may be aspecting lagna with rashi dristi. That means that his influence is always felt there permanently. IF guru aspects lagna by graha dristi, it is his desire to influence this field. Then Parashara suggests subtle aspects to calculate precise quantuum of dristi to see guru's exact strength in this desire. IF guru's strength is low, than it will not be able to impose his influence. In rashi dristis, there are no such calculations, guru influence is there. He doesn't have to impose it. In varga charts, aspects are not calculated according to longitudal distance. That gives even more priority to rashi dristis. That is why some famous Jyotishis as Late Pt.Santhanam didn't accept dristis in divisional charts. However, Parashara is clear. He mentions dristis in divisional charts. You may take both dristis but, being permanent, slightly priority is given to rashi dristis. BEst wishes,. Zoran
Guest guest
Thanks Zoran :-) Some jyotishis insist that since rashi sambandhas belong to Jaimini system, they should be only used with rashi dashas (chara etc.) and not vimshottari. However, as all of these are (originally) described in BPHS [which I presume predates Jaimini though I am not a historian] both rashi sambandha and drishtis should be uniformly applicable to all dashas etc. One of Mr. Rao's students has shown (in one of the anthologies edited by him) that charakarakas play a significant role in vimshottari dasha nirnaya. I think Parashara-Jaimini separation is a modern line of thought and probably unjustified.
