Guest guest
The conjunction of planets right now influencing the Earth is excellent at this time for spiritual practices. Mantras should be practiced as often as possible over the next week and a half, as well as meditation, homas, yagnas and any other devotional practices. The fruits of your mantras will manifest far quicker, as the energies exerted on the Earth right now are very potent and cause a multiplying effect for any spiritual discipline practiced during this time. If possible spend all of your time in meditation, as what can be done over the next 9 days, would usually take months of regular practice. Guest guest
Alex, Could you tell us what specific combination of planets makes this time especially ripe for spiritual practices. I don't see it. Thanks in advance, Karen > The conjunction of planets right now influencing the Earth is > excellent at this time for spiritual practices. Spiritual practices and mantras are great. But are they necessary? ...... They bring "siddhis", power to do certain things, like levitation, contact with devas, ability to transform matter etc. But are these things nrcessary? ..... Somewhere in the Upanishads (?) there is a story about a man who went looking for a guru. Those he met did not please him. One day he approached a village and saw a young boy, who radiated effulgence. He asked him, " Is there a really good guru in this village?" And the boy answered, "Why do you need a guru? The sun gives light and warmth, makes clouds to rise and give you rain. Without light, warmth and water you cannot live. The sun gives you these, to the good and the bad equally, and asks for no reward. The Wind purifies the atmosphere, takes evil smells away. You breathe the wind and cannot live without it. But the wind blows for the good and the bad, and asks for no reward. The Earth carries you. You trample on it with every step. But it carries the good and the bad, provides food for all, and asks for no reward. You have three gurus. Do as they do: treat all your fellow-beings alike, do not judge, and help without asking for a reward. Do you still need a fourth guru? I have given this story from memory - read it 40 years ago! - and may not be correct in all details. But this is the gist of the Gita and the Sermon on the Mount. Spirituality lies in service and is not restricted to 9 days in a year. These 9 days serve only to remind us of what we have to do 365.25 days every year, to dedicate ourselves consciously! The Creatrix has not sent us here to perform in a circus, to be proficient in changing molecules. These are things we will be able to do anyhow, when we "go home". Our purpose is to get on with each other, to tolerate, to give and to take without hurting, without asking for a reward. AND THAT IS THE GREATEST CHALLENGE! Guest guest
Hello, Read this link on Navaratri if you wish a full explanation. It mainly has to do with the position of the Sun and the Moon. http://www.hindu.panchang.i12.com/sept_festivals.htm regards, Alex gjlist , "Karen Skoler" <skoler@o...> wrote: > Alex, > > Could you tell us what specific combination of planets makes this time > especially ripe for spiritual practices. Guest guest
Hello Mani, Thank you for the long response. You have brought up some excellent points. > Spiritual practices and mantras are great. But are they necessary? ...... For some people they are not necessary. I agree. But they are very useful for people who wish to achieve certain benefits. For example if there is a combination in the birth chart for death, what other way to avoid this than through mantra and spiritual discipline? As well mantras are very useful for the destruction of malefic karmas that hinder spiritual progress. So it is very useful to do these things if you wish for quicker spiritual progress. Many believe that moksha is not possible without the use of mantra. I always recommend spiritual disciplines as they make life easier to live, as well as aiding spiritual progress. But they are by no means necessary. However I fully recommend the use of mantras to anyone who has any dangerous combinations in their charts. thanks again, Alex > They bring "siddhis", power to do certain things, like levitation, contact with > devas, ability to transform matter etc. But are these things nrcessary? ..... > > Somewhere in the Upanishads (?) there is a story about a man who went looking > for a guru.
