Guest guest
Gore has taken the popular vote. We await the results of the Florida recount. For those who use charts of states and political bodies, the chart for the State of Florida is for its acceptance into the Union: March 3, 1845, 11:22 am EST in Tallahassee, Florida. This is the Marc Penfield chart. Carolyn Dodson offers the same day, noon in Washington, DC (where the senate approved statehood). Guest guest
Well I just heard the news Bush has taken the election which doesn't really surprise me. I wanted Al Gore to win and thought he had the better horoscope, but it seems it was probably overly idealistic to think the better man will win in the political arena. A number of important question have been answered in my own head about certain aspects of directional strength versus transit strength. I normally wouldn't bother worrying myself about elections as I feel hidden forces, money, and of course the media make things so hard to fathom it is not worth twisting your mind over. In this case with it being so close it was interesting to have a crack at a winner. When I looked at the charts at first, I thought Bush must win as Rahu was going to transit his Sun in the 10th house from Moon and Jupiter. I mentioned in an earlier posting that it is said in the ancient texts that when Rahu transits the ruling sign of a country the government will change, so it was a brave move to even try to go against this. Another worry was the D 10 of Bush with Mars and Saturn in exchange between the 7th and 10th house with Mars exalted and Saturn neecha Bhanga raja yoga. Also Rahu is in the 10th house from the Moon in D10. If Saturn was a bad planet for him why did he become Governor under Saturn Maha dasha? It is probably a bad habit to get into looking at two charts and saying one will win because his chart is stronger as Bill Clinton beat old man Bush and he has a very strong chart, while if we use Virgo as a lagna we cannot say the same for Clinton. In reality there wasn't much between them in the end but it would indicate Rahu has a very powerful role here as the kingmaker. This confirms what I believe about Rahu in trine or conjunction to natal Sun being a wonderful combination for a horoscope in general. Rahu in transit over the natal Sun in particular would be confirmed as a good transit as Bush has Sun in the 12th house but still has reached the most powerful position on the earth. What must be seen now is the effects of this man has on the world. I still think his horoscope is flawed and a countries destiny is seen in the chart of the leader, so I will follow his career closely. He has come to power under Saturn his 8th lord of legacy but Saturn is a hard planet for people born in Cancer. Look what happened to Indira Gandhi who was born with Saturn in the Cancer lagna and Mars in the 2nd house like Bush. She was assasinated under Saturn / Rahu so it will be interesting to see if Rahu will continue to benefit Bush or bring him problems. Another unknown factor is all the planets between the nodes. Who can really predict the result of this? I haven't heard from the old Pundit as he will know I'm pissed off with him as I was dead against going up against the transit of Rahu over Bushs Sun. On the positive side he said it was good to take the oppossing view of people like Richard Houck and argue a different course of events as in the end you come out wiser and with much practical experience of actual events, especially when you are wrong! Anyway there was a deafening silence from most well known Vedic astrologers on a major event like this election. Right or wrong people should have a go as we shouldn't drag astrology down to our petty human concerns with being correct or smarter than others. My old Pundit always reminds me that one lifetime is not enough to master astrology. I would like to publically congratulate Richard Houck for his accurate election forcast and the good spirit he entered into debate with me on various aspects of astrology. I am somewhat mischevious at times in pisstaking and joking with Americans and they may misinterpet this differently. I don't really take this all that seriously....................... regards Skinbags
Guest guest
Al Gore won by popular vote; and there is still some question in Florida regarding confusionon the ballots caused by Gore being listed as #2 but if the 2nd hole was punched you voted for Buchanan. As of now they are still saying they don't know, have to recount. Robin Welch
