Guest guest
Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!!! Namaste Mani!! i like your Ammachi sell job for Dasji...but i have to take issue with your cheap crown quip....i admit that the first time i saw the pictures of Amma in Devi Bhava i felt the same way...and it is difficult to explain to people with out them thinking one is nutty...but in reality, Amma only wears those clothes because Her children insist that She do so....and the Crown is not cheap as far as i can tell...it looks like solid silver to me (Amma has some VERY rich devotees, so it wouldn't be hard to have a REAL crown if She would wear one...)...the jewels aren't real(i don't think!)...but i believe the crown itself is...although not very thick..and thus not so expensive...also well padded...that crown took a lot of work by some dedicated devotees to make for Mother, and i suspect they'd be pained at hearing your casual opinion expressed so on Dasji's list!!! KICK!!! BOOT!!!Naughty Mani!!! When i actually SAW Amma in Devi Bhava the first time and ever since, i understood WHY She does it...She says that She takes off a couple of veils when in Devi Bhava...although i was told by Sri Lalitha, a devotee born in Madras, but now in the US, that Amma has mostly stopped taking off the veils since 1994 because people couldn't take the power....in the older videos, you see quite a different Amma in Devi and Krsna Bhava....the Divine power obviously just radiates thru and out of Her then...there was so much energy moving thru Her that Her legs would visibly tremble...and the looks of bliss as Amma would stop in the middle of a darshan...to look off into some world of Her own with the most heavenly smile....going into samadhi for minutes at a time...the devotee on Her lap in heaven!! So i definitely take issue with you over Devi Bhava...in fact many more people come on the Devi Bhava nights than ANY OTHER....so it must be a good effect on them....You should see Amma before She puts on the Clothes and Crown...first the Devi Puja (which i just love!!!...it inspired me to learn to do Puja on my own to Divine Mother....)...then you see Amma kneeling in front of the Peetham...whereupon Sri Devi's sacred garments are lying neatly arranged....then you hear Amma's sweetly husky voice as She worships the Devi...singing Her own Puja....after a long while of this...She finally dons the clothes behind the curtain...and when the curtains open, Darling Amma is sitting in splendor on Her Peetham decorated in flowers, with Swami Ramakrsnanadaji (and a few others) singing the Vedic Mantras naked from the waist up....with conch shells and bells..and flying flower petals as Amma showers them around Her...it is such a stirring sight....i actually feel myself to BE in the presence of that GREAT DEVI, Who has kindly consented to take birth on this plane yet once more for the liberation of all beings, and the relief of Mother Earth from the Demonic hordes...trampling Her and raping Her...and stealing Her precious plants and animals...sometimes the splendour and the beauty and Amma's Divine Love just overwhelm me and it sucks the breath out of the body for a brief space of awe...and reverence....you can actually FEEL the Divine Love energy pouring out of Mother throbbingly intense....and into you, filling you with the most intensely blissful loving feelings....YAH!!!!give me more!!!! Let us remember the Devi Mahatmyam dear elder brother....and let us remember Who this is that we are so easily criticizing.... (of course we are allowed to criticise our own family members...but SHOULD WE??) especially when we know so little about them? a big Amma hug to you dear brother...be eternally embraced in Her Divine Love....(and no more cheapshot comments...or we'll just have to tell mommy!!!and you won't get any milk!!!!so there!!!nya nya nya nya...) In Her Divine Love, and in Her service this little one is as ever, your own self, and your younger but impudently loving brother visvanathan Om Devyai Namah!!
