Hello everyone,

While searching the web, I found a sample of Russian culture, namely,

EXTREME COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT

This site:

http://www.philosophy.ru/library/asiatica/indica/

When you first pull it up, looks like a mess, because it's probably in

Cyrillic font.

But if you scroll down, they have English, kindof.

Anyway, they have posted a TON of books that they obviously scanned, and

have just posted on the web. Because it's in Russia, nobody can really

touch them, as it's a pretty lawless place as far as copyrights go. No

software is sold there, it's ALL bootlegged.

Apparently, from this site, same with books.

So anyway, if you scroll down, you can click on book links, and you got

the text onscreen.

Including book 1 of Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra and Jaimini Sutras too.

They have tons of books on Vaisnava philosophy, ISKCON's and many others.

Interesting resource.

If you know how to create programs which index text and allow retrieval,

you'll have MEGA BOOKSHELF PRO all to yourself at least as far as

philosophy goes. There's only a little Jyotish, but having book 1 of

Brihat Parashara... is worth it. At least you can search it in your word

processor.

I feel a bit uneasy about announcing this on the list, or at all, but I

guess I feel kindof OK about this in that I know the owners of Ranjan

publications are pretty easy about their BPHS going out (which is the

one scanned here in this case), and I know that Prabhupada wanted his

books to go out, so the Bhagavatam here also I don't feel bad about. I

don't think many of you would actually buy the Bhagavatam from ISKCON,

whereas you might read parts of it if you could search it on your PC.

I think most of this is kindof meant to go out. The sages who wrote it

all certainly want the knowledge spread. Profits come after that.

Besides, this is a real mess (this website) so if you want clean

anything, you'll have to buy it anyway.

Also, any of you diligently searching would have found this just like I

did anyway.

It came up upon a search as "brihat para hora sastra"

Peace, humbly proceed in goodness, serving Divinity as sincerely as possible,

humble soul out
