Guest guest
Om Krishnaaya Namah Dear All, The earthquake of Bhuj which occured on Friday is one of the worst in recent Indian History, and has significance for me personally because Bhuj in Gujarat is "my city". My own village in India is about two miles away from Bhuj, and I have a lot of close relatives there. A lot of the Indian community in England has links to the twenty-something main villages around Bhuj, and I know many in the same situation as us - a state of suspense, not knowing what's going on with our near and dear ones. A lot of have been tuned to the Indian news channels constantly, but while there is great focus on the main city of Bhuj, nothing has been mentioned of the surrounding villages. Villages such as Anjar have been almost completely destroyed. We had some good news this morning, as a relative phoned saying that an emergency telephone line in Bhuj was available for one-minute calls to people who wanted to contact others, and so he was contacted by his father. Apparently, while the houses in my village are shaken up (fortunately a large portion of the village is known as the new "vaas"), most people, including my family are OK. Of course until we speak to somebody directly this is still kinda hard to accept, as we are one of the closest villages to Bhuj. But, we are optimistic. Looking at the situation astrologically, it seems to me that earthquakes are often triggered by major eclipses. While I haven't looked in any detail at any charts, I did look at a chart for the eclipse on the 9th, set at Bhuj. What is weird is that Mars, Bhumi Suta, is in exact Conjunction with the Lagna. If I remember right, this same point stood out when the chart for the 1999 eclipse was cast for Turkey. And the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction is in the eighth house of mass death. When the earthquake happened, the transiting Moon exactly conjoined the Lord of the first and eighth Lord, Venus. While none of this would have screamed "earthquake!" to me before, the links are fascinating. In the earthquake chart, the Moon and Mercury, Lords of two dusthanas conjoin in the Lagna. The fourth, Land, is housing the Jupiter-Saturn conjuntion, aspected by Mars. Again, not very meaningful to me in foresight, but fascinating in hindsight. It would be interesting to hear astrological thought with regards to this earthquake, Jaya Govinda, Pursottam

Guest guest
Om Krishnaaya Namah Just a little addition: >none of this would have screamed "earthquake!" to me before What would have, is the Rudramsha. This being the Varga for death and destruction should ideally be examined for all eclipse charts as eclipses are said to have a destructive nature anyway. And while the Rashi to me wasn't clear, it did indicate destructive tendencies. However, the Rudramsha shows all the main malefics in Kendras (Mars, Saturn and the nodes in the first and seventh), while all the Benefics occupy dusthanas. The Moon, while in the ninth, is debilitated. Thanks, Pursottam
Guest guest
Whenever major planets like Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, either retrograde or become direct, major changes in the earth take place. This phenomenon, this time occurred in an earthy sign, taurus and received aspect from Mars (8th aspect) from Libra. Incidentally, Taurus is the rising sign, in Indian Independence chart. regards, Manoj _______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
