Guest guest
Hi, someone requested my feelings about surrender & what i learned from sadhus. This is my thought. Surrender means many things, from the crook to the saint. It means to surrender your most precious things. And what is the most precious thing....i would say life. When we are in risk of dying or somebody close to us is in mortal danger, we are open to surrender. At that particular moment we surrender to the absolute, to God or to whatever idea we have of someone superior to us. Many atheist people recognize a being superior to them when they are in dire need. One day many years ago, i saw death coming to get me and at that time i had a vague idea of God. I "saw" the newspapers next day "student found death in the mountains". It was a shocking experience but something good came out of it. I surrendered to God knowing that He was the only shelter. Days later, i went down to the city looking for God but there was not much i could find cos everybody was busy in material activities. I read a lot of books trying to find God, the Manu Samhita, koran, Bible, Send-Advest, etc, but i was not satisfyied. The Manu Samhita (in Spanish) said that it was a part of the vedas the source of material and spiritual knowldge. I left my country & arrived in Europe looking for the Vedas. One day i went to visit the Hare Krishna temple outside Paris & met a Spaniard devotee who told me "are you looking for the vedas?, my spiritual master is translating the cream of the vedas". mmmmm. I started to visit more often and read the Srimad Bhagavatam, the cream of the Vedas. Soon i found out that sadhus are students of spiritual knowledge and that they surrender their lives to God. Soon i realized that there were many sadhus, men & women giving their time, words, intelligence & life to the service of the Lord. They told me how to surrender to Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, by following the instructions of their Guru, Srila Prabhupada. Those sadhus were sincere and advancing nicely on the spiritual path. I had been studying western astrology formany years and when i found vedic astrology, i found one of the most perfect sciences. I found as well that Krishna is the source of everything includying vedic astrology. Therefore, if we want to advance in the mysteries of vedic astrology, surrender to the Lord is very helpful. In whatever science we want to move, we need the encouragement & help of superior authorities to learn faster & better. In a similar way, if we please Krishna with our surrender, the mysteries of vedic astrology will be revealed within our hearts with the help of good teachers. I am indebted to all those sadhus that gave me and still give me inspiration to continue on the path to the Lord. Yours natabara
