It seems there are two opinions regarding how

to give a description for Rahu or Ketu in a sign,

and I hope someone out there can clear it up. First,

this is my general information on this:

>>The general interpretation is that Rahu acts like

Saturn, and Ketu like Mars. Thus you may consult

the description of Saturn and Mars in the different

signs.

But there is a MORE IMPORTANT method of understanding

Rahu and Ketu .............. Since they shadowy planets they will reflect the

qualities of the lord of the sign they are in.

Example: If Rahu is in Virgo, a sign ruled by Mercury, you should look to the

position of Mercury in the chart and predict similar effects for Rahu.

If Mercury is powerfully situated in the chart, Rahu

will similar good potencies. If Mercury is mediocre,

predict mixed effects for Rahu, and if Mercury is

weak, Rahu will act in malefic ways.<<

Ok, I understand this intellecturally, but as you

see, there are TWO methods which are made acceptable.

1-Rahu acts like Saturn, and Ketu like Mars.

2-They will reflect the qualities of the lord of the

sign they are in.

I am wondreing if #2 is really the more important

method, as I have seen it done the other way first

of all, and secondly, the chart I am now doing, the

woman is a Sagittarius rising with Rahu in the fifth

in Aries and Ketu in the eleventh in Libra. If using

Ketu as one would Mars, well Mars ia a benefic for

her rising. But using Ketu as Venus, lord of Libra,

now Venus is a malefic for her rising. HELP! :)I get

a completely different reading with each one. So what

is the most common and fundamental rule here? #1 or

#2? And why? I want to do this right and need information

to acheieve that.

Thanks!
