Dear Mani

<<This aunt was very fair-skinned for an Indian, could pass for an Italian. But

it

is interesting to note that all the incarnations and Durga are described as

"dark, emerald". Green is the colour of chlorophyll, which can convert sunlight

into energy........ Is that a secret of the avatars, that they could live

without food at times?>>

Very interesting to hear about your aunt. I heard of people living from fruits

and nuts alone for many years. It is one of those things in life that we can

not understand well. regarding the colour of Durga. The Virgen de Guadalupe in

Mexico (the mother of Mexican) is described as dark in color. There are people

that walk on their knees for a couple of miles to visit her shrine in Mexico

city. It is a painful experience but people do it with love and devotion in

thanks for miracles done to them by Our Lady.

regards

natabara
