All glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga

Dear List members :

Below is a description of the different types of DIABETES MIELLITUS

the root cause and treatment as per the Ayur Vedic Approach.

The root cause of disease is very complex and not one factor is the

culprit and the outcome of the disease , unfortunately both Jyotish

and Ayur Veda split approximately 3ooo or more years ago, the reasons

why are even more complex . But in my opinion there are many

contradictions and difficult to reconcilliate and so far nobody was

able to spell my darkness , I need some help here.

Let's take the example of Prameha ( Diabetis Miellitus) just to see

what the Ayur Vedic classic Shastras have to say about this disease

and the three doshas involved in Diabetis juvenil type and not ONE.

Definition -In Ayurveda it is called as `Prameha" which is metabolic

disorder reflecting in abnormality of urine. Modern medicine also

considers this as metabolic disorder, characterized by hyperglycemia,

glycosuria and disturbance in insulin mechanism. There are mainly to

two types, diabetis isipidus and diabetes mellitus.

Causative factors- Increased Kapha after vitiating ojas, urinary

system and pancreas produces this disease.

It is a dysfunction of the water system and a water metabolism

imbalance.

Some known causes are: wrong diet , with excessive consumption of

sugar , sweets, dairy products, alcohol, fat, pastries, breads with

yeast, excessive sex, , sleep in the day time, lack of exercise,

worry, stress and anxiety, considerer hereditary factors.

Psichological causes can be lack of contentment in life, frustrated

desires, unfullfilment, so when you see the chart pay special

attention to the Psichological roots.

Vitiated Kapha is responsible for producing low tissue fire which

results in malformation of all most all tissues in the body. This is

therefore basically a metabolic disorder.

Symptoms -increased appetite, increased urination and increased

thirst are preliminary symptoms. Other symptoms are due to improper

formation of all most all the tissues in the body. They are debility,

various pathological changes in urine -in colour,smëll etc. skin

disorders impotency and heart disorders due to atherosclerosis.

If the disease is not properly treated, complications like

hypertension,obesity,hypercholesterol and heart problems develop

quickly.

Long term diabetes becomes primarily Vata disorder. !! it may be

any Graha afflicting the 5th and 6th which rules Grahani or

digestion the subdivisions of Pachaka Pitta and Samana Vayu, check

for bad and negative influences in this houses , this can trigger

the disease.

Kapha Prameha -Ten different types of urine abnormalitites take place,

1. Udakameha (Hydruria ) -large quantity of urine which is

transperent, white, cold without smell and watery urine.

2. Ikshumeha (Glycosuria )- sweet cold and turbid urine like the

juice of sugar cane.

3.Sandrameha (Chyluria)- Urine with high viscosity.

comes partly viscous and partly clear.

slightly turbid and pale in colour.

(Please note that for each type of Prameha some paralel synonym from

logical condition described here. )
