Guest guest
Hi Karthik 25 years ago i asked the same question, Which Ayanamsa to choose? By then i had 6 years experience in western astrology and that was very helpful to assess the ayanamsa to follow. After reading few books i decided that Lahiri's is the most scientific based. The government of India paid Mr Lahiri for a research to be done in order to have a single calendar for the whole country. I do not know of any other ayanamsa that has taken as long and concise research on the subject as the Lahiri's. The next question that you are likely to encounter is which style of graphic you want to follow. Myself am happy to follow the North Indian style but i have friends that feel happy with the South Indian style. It is a question of preference. Another choice to make is which Rahu to follow, either the true or the mean. In this case i prefer what the classic books advise, and it is the mean Rahu. natabara
Guest guest
Hi everyone, Been using Lahiri but recently tried Rick Houck's with own chart and so far it seems to work; actually I hope Rick's is it because if so, I start Jupiter/Mercury April 14 rather than May 31, and they are in 5/9 relationship. Could use the break. Jupiter/Saturn is 3/11 but its been wearing me out; previous 5/9s have been much more fun. The cool thing is it's easy to experiment w/ the GJ software--thanks, Raghu! Guest guest
Thank you, Visti. I was indeed confused until you answered. I understand now. I'll use Lahiri.
