Still, I think your point is a good one, that one should incorporate the navamsha into the analysis. OTOH, looking at Julia Roberts' chart (Oct 28 1967 00:16 EDT Atlanta, GA) there is little or no obvious contribution of the navamsha. In rashi, Cancer rises and lagnesh Moon is in 2nd (that face! that smile!) with benefics Venus and Jupiter. So Moon is a natural karaka of beauty and being in the 2nd helps out a lot. With good associations, it makes Julia radiant. If Moon was in another house with Jupiter and Venus I think she would still be good looking, but not as beautiful as she is. 2L Sun is in 4th(libra-Venus ruled) with Mercury and Ketu. Not much going on there. Navamsha has Leo rising with no aspects and lagnesh Sun is aspected by Mars and Rahu. Not very beauty-inducing I'd say, but it's perhaps worth noting that Rahu is in a Venus-ruled sign, Taurus, and is exactly opposed by Venus(<1*).
