Guest guest
A short postscript to this Chris, which may clarify the principle of beneficial aspect to ascendant. Jupiter, being in sign of great friend, casts a relatively strong (auspicious) glance on the ascendant...therefore the native's appearance (1st house) will benefit, as will his ability to prosper and be recognised in the world. One's social standing is dependant on strength of ascendant and it's lord...in my opinion the position of 1/10 lord Mercury in inimical sign in 8th is not capable of bestowing the social standing and prominent career he was known to have without the aspect of Jupiter uplifting his ascendant...uplifting him! Of course a wealthy family was a "given" with 2nd lord in own home in 9th, but powerful career (in my opinion) could not have been achieved without the beneficial aspect of Jupiter on ascendant. The aspect from neutral (6th lord) Saturn to both Asc and 8th house is unfavourable in regards to physical strength and well-being. Saturn is the giver of pain, and rules the lame etc...if I recall JFK suffered constant pain and wore a back brace most of his adult life. These, of course, are my opinions and yours are also valid. However I'm rather bogged down at the moment with other projects and don't have time to debate it any further, I'm afraid.
