Venus and beauty: Chris and Patrice

Namaste Chris and Patrice,

 

In my 14 years of practising Jyotish, the following is what I discovered

vis a vis beautiful women, and astrological correspondences to them:

 

1. There is almost always either a conjunction, or strong aspectual

relationship between Venus and Saturn, provided Saturn is a functional

benefic for the horoscope (vis. it rules the lagna, or is a yoga-karaka);

 

2. Women with Venus in Capricorn, and especially if it is in the lagna or

2nd house, or any angular houses, are exceptionally beautiful;

 

3. Even Capricorn rising alone, gives exceptional feminine beauty;

 

4. Any cardinal sign rising, with Venus either in Capricorn or Libra;

 

5. Venus in Taurus, especially if the Sun is there too, for earth signs

rising give a rich, sensual beauty in women, with thick hair, dark eyes,

and gentle characteristics;

 

6. And any or all of the following w.r.t. Libra: Libra rising with Sun or

Venus, or all three, give special beauty.

 

What we can gain from this, is that Saturn, as a functional benefic, gives

particular beauty, especially if it is rising, or, as the above

illustrates, in some way connected to Venus. The sign Capricorn, however,

is especially emphasized. Now, Saturn in the Arudha lagna, enables the

woman to be seen and perceived as beautiful, or lets just say that her

public persona would be seen as such. The lagna is "Satya-peetha", or the

seat of truth, so the actual beauty can be seen from it. Now, my

conclusions above, is that Capricorn especially is conducive to beauty in

women. I don't recall ever reading that anywhere, it comes after

experience of having worked with thousands of clients, most of whom are

female, over the past 14 years.

Excellent observations! Actually what you have observed is given in

Brihat Jataka as a specific combination for beauty. Varahamihira

author of Brihat Jataka is said to be a reincarnation of Parasara.

 

"Venus in Capricorn or Aquarius: Of beautiful appearance, and liked

by all, the individual will be under the grasp of women and

unlawfully connected with debauched and bad women."

 

also

 

"If Saturn be in the Ascendant Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn,

Aquarius, or Pisces, the native will become like a king, the ruler of

a city or village, a Pandit, and will be of a beautiful appearance."

 

It is interesting to note that Varahamihira does not mention beauty

for the position of Venus or Moon in the ascending house.

 

According to Saravali:

 

If Venus is in Capricorn or Aquarius and is aspected by Jupiter, one

will enjoy robes and garlands, be beautiful, will be skillful in

music and musical instruments and will posses a good wife.

 

If Venus is in Capricorn or Aquarius and is aspected by Saturn, one

will be endowed with servants, conveyances and wealth, be dirty and

will possess a black, beautiful and broad physique.

Thank you much for the scriptural quotes re: beautiful women, and

placements of Venus in Capricorn. This confirms what I have seen so many

times, for many years. Now, consider the following, which are charts of

actual women with whom I have worked astrologically, and who all possess

exceptional physical and spiritual beauty:

 

1. Capricorn rising, with Venus in Taurus in the 5th: She started her

career as a flight attendant for United, then a Playboy bunny, and later

became a very successful model.

 

2. Sagittarius rising, with Venus in Capricorn in the 2nd: She started her

career as the lead singer in a rock band, and now has become successful in

TV doing cosmetic commercials.

 

3. Libra rising, with Venus and Saturn in Capricorn in the 4th: This woman

enjoys celestial beauty (and so also those who live with her!). She is not

in the entertainment industry, although she was "Prom queen", and Most

beautiful woman on campus" in high school. In fact, in her chart, Venus is

in a close conjunction with Saturn. Saturn's aspect to the Libra ascendant

confirms the theme of beauty a la Venus/Saturn/Capricorn themes.

 

4. Capricorn rising, with Venus in the 4th, aspected by exalted lagna lord

Saturn in the 10th: a visionary and chakra healer, of exceptional and

uncanny beauty.

 

The following two charts show these principles in a different way (I have

not had them as clients, but anyway the birth data is available):

 

1. Pamela Anderson, mega-gorgeous former star of "Baywatch", has a Taurus

rising, with Yoga-karaka Saturn in the 11th, aspecting the lagna. Further,

Venus is in the 4th in Leo.

 

2. Marilyn Monroe: Goddess-like beautiful film and sex symbol of the 50's

and 60's: Cancer rising, with exalted Saturn in the 4th, aspecting Venus in

the 10th, as well as the lagna. Chandra happens to be in Capricorn in

Marilyn's chart, and thus seeing the above from the vantage point of

Chandra lagna, Venus becomes the yoga-karaka and is in the 4th, aspected by

exalted lagna lord Saturn, from the 10th.

 

Anyway, there are many such charts, and I think with the above in mind, you

will see the astro-correspondences with beautiful women that you come into

contact with.

I agree to what you have said. But this particular combination, Venus in

Sign of Saturn also works very well for body odour.

Thank you for the information Robert, it's very helpful. I don't have

many charts, but my best friend is very pretty, and I couldn't figure it

out astrologically with Leo rising and Sun conjunct Saturn in the 11th

with Saturn being the only planet aspecting her lagna. But, actually,

now I just noticed that she has the moon and Venus in exchange, a

cardinal exchange, so then from her moon, the exchange would be kendra

houses 1st and 10th, and the kendra house exchange seems like it would

be more significant, than if her Moon were in Taurus and the exchange

was between 1st and 3rd. Also, it nicely turns out then from the arudha

lagna Aries, a kendra exchange invloving 4th and 7th. In her navamsa she

has Aries rising with Venus in Capricorn, in exchange with Saturn in

Taurus...that's as far as I got though with her chart, but that exchange

now makes a lot more sense after reading your post Thanks, Angie

Namaste. This is such a great list and energy on here for learning.

very learned views. Really, really helpful.

 

All the lists participation on this has been so helpful and great. Wendy and

Chris started this topic and it has been wonderful for a beginner such as

myself to learn so much. Even though we have been centered on the beauty

question, all the information has been helpful learning Jyotish in other

areas too, much appreciated, thanks to all.

 

And Chris, thanks for the puzzle for us all. I want to look at it also. My

beginner status means it takes me longer and we have visitors that arrived

here Sunday night so I will have to wait a bit longer to get to it. It will

be a great little test though and I won't look at the answers you post until

I have a look on my own.

I too was wondering before about Capricorn being beautiful as a

Saturn ascendant. I noticed this first with Kim Basinger's chart. She

is a beautiful woman with an excellent body. A strong Sasa yoga gives

a beautiful body of the slender type according to Parasara. "He has a

slender waist and beautiful thighs."

 

She has a Capricorn ascendant, with Venus exalted in Libra 10th

house. Rasi Dristi on ascendant is of Venus, Mercury, Sun from

Scorpio and Juptier from Taurus. The Navamsa ascendant is Taurus

under Rasi dristi of Venus from Libra, Saturn, Rahu, Sun from

Capricorn.

 

The ascendant lord and navamsa lord form a yoga by their natural

relation.

 

I have seen many charts of models and beautiful actresses either in

the Rasi or navamsa they have Venus in Capricorn or Aquarius. Also

common is Saturn in Taurus or Libra. I'll list some at the bottom.

 

Venus and Saturn has a special synergistic relationship in the chart.

This is noted in some texts. Saturn is the yogakaraka for Venus

ascendant and vice-versa. Their combination as best friends is very

auspicious according to the Nadis, as they assist each other the

best.
