Thank you, and you have provided the shastric quote, for what I've seen for years of doing astrology (although not having run across that verse). Guest guest
Hi, Am playing catchup with e-mail after crazy work period of abut three weeks, and have a question. There's been discussion of Venus conj Saturn in Lagna, etc. for beauty in females--what about in a male chart? Anyone have Antonio Banderas' birthdata? Also, I have been studying Upadesa Sutras, and I have to tell you guys there is some amazing stuff in there. The chapter on having children (specifically, pp113-114 for those of you who have the book) absolutely nailed the truth on the head for me. It was true in both Saptamsa and Rasi, with Rasi coinciding with the childrens' rasis! I have 2 sons, the first born with Lagna/Saturn/Venus(AK) /Jupiter/Mercury Sun all conjunct in LIBRA; the secondborn has Sun/Mars/Venus/ Mercury in LEO in 11th from his AK Moon (Lagna is Pisces w/ Lagna Lord Jupiter in Aries). My Lagna Lord (Aquarius Asc) is in LIBRA 9th house Conj Venus 9th Lord, and my AK (Atmakaraka) is Moon in LEO 7th house, by the way. Upadesa Sutras says for a female the 9th house rules the firstborn, and if the Lord of the child (Venus= 9th Lord) is conj an exalted planet (Saturn in Libra), the child will be a male. The second born child is indicated by the 7th house; in this case, Leo. And, the Sun is conj Rahu in Sagittarius--Rahu is a male planet (according to Upadesa Sutras p. 113) . (Plus Sun is male and Jupiter disp of Sun is male). Look how the details tie in. Oh, my 2nd born has Rahu in Pisces ASC, too. And, the book also says "The nodes generally indicate the last child. For example, in Rahu is in the 7th or conjunct the seventh lord, the native may have two children." Rahu is conj the 7th Lord Sun--as a matter of fact, Rahu must have put an end to my childbearing years (I don't know medical astrology, but) because I broke my tailbone having the last baby, and they told me not to have more because of the risk of paralysis (also had gestational diabetes, which makes for big babies). I wanted two anyway. Both chidren were born during Rahu dasa, he must have been just waiting around to give me that kick in the pants. Here's the birth data: Mom (me) b. Dec 16, 1954 12:16 pm EST Columbia, SC Firstborn November 12, 1982 5:16 am Savannah, GA Secondborn August 30, 1987 9:38 pm Hilton Head Island, SC Anybody know the answer to this? If you have a debilitated node that is Stationary Direct, does it function as if exalted? It must have or I would have had a girl, just reaIized Rahi is debilitated in Sag, but SD. I think James Braha says SD nodes function as if exalted. (You know, exalted planets function as if debilitated when Rx, and debilitated planets function as if exalted when Rx; and the nodes are supposed to be Rx?) Well, in this case, it gave a boy. Robert Koch recommended Upadesa Sutras and there is a wealth of brain expanding riches in there to play with. Namaste, Robin
