Dear Visti,

Thanks for accepting! I have a few small teatime topics to offer

while we enjoy this nice day:

 

I wonder how many people in the world actually study Vedic astrology.

Someone said that an edition of 1,000 books in the astrological field is

about the average press run due to a very small market. If true, that would

make each published Jyotish volume an exceedingly rare book in its first

edition alone. The standard bookstores here have a lot of Western astrology

books, but Vedic astrology texts have to be sought out--they're not readily

available.

 

There's a wonderful Indian bookstore that I found about 4 years ago

in nearby Springfield, Virginia. It's called Nataraj Books. The Vedic and

Hindu texts there are piled so high at times that you couldn't reach them all

without a ladder.

 

I like to think about things that are solvable when I am at work,

but while at tea, it's easy to wonder about things one cannot possibly

solve....and easier to let them go, while the birds sing, the stray cat

chases mice under the trees, and the squirrels squawk-squawk! at that quick

cat. She does catch mice, you know, and I think she brings them to us out of

generosity. I like the stray cat while my neighbor likes the squirrels!

 

Here, have some more tea, Visti, and some of that good bread, too.
