Guest guest
Dear Angie, Yes, as far as I know, Upayas are a constituent part of Jyotish. For me, THE CRUCIAL part. Probably there are astrologers (in the west) who don't believe in Upayas, and I am not going to try to persuade anybody or to engage in deskussions. All I can say is, I have applied them, and found that they were very effective. Guest guest
Dear Members, Over the years there have been many debates regarding the efficacy of Upayas. There is little doubt in my mind that relief from suffering can be obtained by applying the correct remedial measure at the correct time, and in the correct manner. Many swear that yagyas have miraculously eased the burden of what would otherwise have been unbearable. Many believe that wearing the appropriate Gem or kavacham has also lessened the burden of their karma. I (personally) do not believe that we can "wipe out" our karma...not even if we're enlightened! As long as we're in the wheel of birth and death, the karma (good or bad) will be there. However I do believe we can take steps to lessen it's impact. If one was destined to receive a severe injury to his foot for instance, then by applying the correct remedy prior to the manifestation of that karma, he may just bruise his toe instead. The karmic debt has been paid but the suffering has been reduced. Karma first begins to manifest on the subtle fields of creation. So we may be quite innocently enjoying the fruits of our good karma, completely unaware of the changes taking place within. Yagyas are performed on that subtle field of vibration where cause first manifests into karma. So the timing of yagyas is important if they're to be effective. One of the greatest problems of this noble endeavour to ease the suffering of mankind is that yagyas, gems & kavachams can be expensive, and as the greatest suffering very often is inflicted by Saturn (who invariably brings poverty in his wake), those most in need find these remedies out of reach. It's because of this (I believe) that many good astrologers shy away from remedial measures. It's cruel to advise someone of a possible remedy if that remedy is out of their reach. SACRIFICE is a remedy that has been employed from the most primitive times. >From the sacrifice of humans, to sheep, goats, and still widely practised today, chickens. Primitive man believed that by sacrificing a life (Saturn) they would escape the wrath of the gods and their lives would prosper. The death of Christ is held to have been the greatest sacrifice of all. For the sins of all mankind he gave up his life...so many Christians who "believe" literally in this sacrifice see that their lives are benefited by "accepting" his sacrifice. MEDITATION is another form of sacrifice (penance)...one sacrifices ONESELF in meditation. This form of remedial measure is within the reach of all (rich or poor), but the catch is that it requires discipline and determination to withdraw from the activity of the mind in order to "be" quietly centred in that unmanifest field from where all activity (karma) rises. Best Regards Wendy LILIANA WROTE: Yes, as far as I know, Upayas are a constituent part of Jyotish. For me, THE CRUCIAL part.
