Guest guest
To our GJList, Many thanks for oyur expressions of concern. We are in shock, but okay. My husband works in Washington DC and came home immediately this morning. There are streams of traffic coming her into Northern Virginia (12 miles west of the White House)and the people are basically quiet and orderly and patient but moving along quickly. I am back at work after going home to see that my husband was safe and sound. My son called home and we talked a long time; he was let out of school early, will ride home on his bike. Hospitals desperately need blood donations now, all doctors in the area are requested to go on duty. Thank you all, for your caring. Force your Government to stop supporting violence at home and abroad! Isolation is no longer possible. So go aggressive: promise help if all the parties promise and also live in peace, BUT threaten destruction of both parties if they do not within a date! YES! Threaten to bomb out Israel and Palestina, Macedonia etc. What does one do if one´s children keep quarrelling in their room? One thrashes them all! Taking sides is useless. you have beat "reasdon" into them. Yesterday Sabine sent out the message of the Hopis. Yes, the hour has come! The river is flowing and pulling us with it. Forget Dow jones and Dax! You are a self-sufficient nation. Foreign markets etc. are not really necessary for you. Be what you were meant to be: a nation grunded on ideals. Remember the Gettysburg address and apply it to the world! There is a symbolism in the tragedy: it was in Florida that Bush "won" by doubtful means - and he was there when the attack came! How will he protect you all, and where? Security measures can be increased to the extent that no one has any freedom of movement! Criminals are always one step ahead of the cops, which is logical. The criminal thinks of ways to get by EXISTING restrictions, but the cops cannot envisage ALL the possible methods of the criminals. There are times when dastardly attacks have to be answered by unjust means. The Gita tells us this, the Mahabharatha illustrates this. If it is shown that Moslem terrorists were responsible, the only answer is to punish ALL Moslems! Stop aid to all Moslem countries, cut off all diplomatic relations, arrest all Moslems in the US and put them into camps. Ninety percent of the "victims" will be innocent. There is no need to "destroy" them", only restrict their freedom for a period. Many Nisei (Japanese descendants) in the US were also interned. But we are now faced with a criminal facet of Islam. As the Ahmadiya Leader of Islam called it, "Murder in the name of Allah!" It is a world problem, stretching from the Middle East to the Philippines. It has to be fought and if innocent people suffer, it is sad, BUT good. They have been silent till now, but will now - now that they are affected - fight against their misled militants. The problem with all societies is that the "sensible majority" is "silent" and thinks that by distancing itself from the criminal minority it is safe or virtuous. Actually it only leaves the path for crime open! If the present attacks are really from Islamic groups, the best and only way is to RESPECT them. Israel was an artificial creation, Palestina was the original country, perhaps no bigger than New York in area, certainly smaller by population. The average Palestinian is not against the Jews: he only wants his land back, his inherited fields! By stopping the policy of creating kibbuzes the problem will be halved. By integrating the palestiniens the situation will be totally solved. It is a "crime" to support a "religious" state, be it Islamic or Hebrew! States should be secular, religion a personal affair. A truly fair treatment of the palestiniasns may end the terror. But islamic fundalism cannot be fought that way. You have to fight Islam itself, force the good Moslems to fight their fanatic elements! regards Mani

Guest guest
Dear Mani, i also care for humanity and about you, Mani. My country will do what it thinks right to do. I feel anguish for the victims of terrorism and for the shock this has brought to their families and communities, and to our entire world. I also feel sadness that the victim/participant in violent ideology against humankind has been brought so low. There must be a way for people to accept one another. Cain and Abel continue to re-enact their story again and again....about material 'blessings'! We need to teach the young about free blessings offered to all, which remain incorruptible and do not give pain nor war, but personal power and peace. Dear Ron, Why are you disappointed? If you are the father of many children and see them madly killing one another, how do you feel? All you want to do is to thrash every one of them soundly and drive sense into their heads - or do you philosophize and say, "These things have to happen!"? Those victims in NY and in washington are also my children - and perhaps yours too, from past incarnations! Is it surprising that I am angry with the bullies amongst my children? I am human, not divine! 53 years an foolish mistake was made and now we are all paying for it! Yes I do believe I am the Manu. But in my past lives I could do something, in this as a pure scout I am helpless, can only register what is happening. Perhaps I will return to steer things better, from what I learn now. Right now it is bitter, my bowels burn, my eyes are filled with the horror, my nostrils filled with the smoke, my ears hear the shrieks of pain! As an advaitist I know that the terrorists are also God, but is it not my right to say, "God, I don´t want you in this form!"? regards Mani

But it is a human list, I have friends on this list, many live in the US. At such times the rules have to be forgotten. Shall I analyze why it all happened by talking of transits? Whom will it help? Will it stop the next attack? Is it a "political" problem only? Which of the victims was a politician? We are people, and want our safety! What will Bush do for us, sitting in a bomb shelter at the White House? No, I do not ask for reactionism, but a clear answer to the terrorism. There are two factors in this: an injustice done to the Palestinians and an Islamic fundamentalism. Both have to be corrected. The rights of the Palestiniasns have to be unconditionally recognized and restored. The fundamentalists are terrorizing not only the world, but their own people! Islam is a religion based on love, brotherhood and equality of all! Yet these extreme groups insist on violence, by misreading the koran wrong and trying to use it to gain power. Our pacific attitude encourages them. So what is wrong if I say, Fight them! I do not care who finds my views offensive. People like Mumin Bey are Moslems out of love and will understand me when I shout at the false Moslems who spread violence. A few hundred years ago christians were no better, killed in the name of Jesus. But the people in the west have put an end to this dragging of God´s name into the mud! It is time that the Middle East did the same, and our duty is to see that this is done. That is the purpose of the UN! regards Mani
Guest guest
Dear Mani, I have to admit, I was not irritated by your letter, but shocked and horrified. This was a stroke in the middle of an astrologers heart. Being a technically great astrologer, is probably something we all strive for, all in our own way. But we all should never forget what it is we are doing here. Whatever system we are using, we are supposed to be a guide for others. 'tell all your muslem and jewish friends...' : are all muslems all over the world terrorists, happy that this happened? Or would it be more likely that 99% of them is as shocked and horrified as you and I were. Should they be walking around, heads down, ashamed of something they had no part of? Just because of their religion? A religion which in itself is as harmless as (almost) all known religions? People, who were just having a coffee, minding their own business, just like the jews you were talking about so easily. Jews, who are stigmatized once again, just because you had a feeling of total impotence. Don't forget that it is NOT the muslems, NOR the jews who brought this upon the world. It is an act of raving madness of extremists, fundamentalists of whatever belief they might have. The minute you are dealing with extremists of whatever religion/club, you are in deep trouble when you (as a normal person) just stupidly copy their 'great thoughts' for a 'good cause'. And it is exactly their wish that you project your new insights on a whole group of innocent people. That, Mani, is all they could hope for. And that's exactly what you gave them. This is what happened in your letter. Jews, Muslems, whatever. It is not important. It might be a big disappointment to you, but there is no such thing as truth, Mani. If only enough people BELIEVE something is true, history has proved over and over again, that thousands and even millions get killed out of sheer stupidity. My heart is with the thousands of victims and with a multiple of family members who will have to deal with this for the rest of their lives. Guest guest
This has to be enough of this nonsense!! It's fitting to offer sympathy and condolences to our friends and colleagues who've suffered such a tragedy, but to turn this tragic event into a political football brings shame to us all. We all have our own opinions as to how the world should be, but this is neither the time nor the place to air them. For years we've expressed our "elevated" thoughts and attempted to put forward our wisdom, compassion, understanding, etc...but what happens to our wisdom when push comes to shove? It flies out the window...shallow wisdom indeed! I see little compassion towards Mani's (misguided perhaps) anger at the senseless escalation of violence (terrorism) that's spreading throughout the whole so-called civilised world. Mani watches this tragedy unfold on his T.V. (as we all do), but unlike most of us he doesn't have someone sitting near that he can turn to and express his anger and frustration. But, believing he was amongst friends, he spoke his anger to us. Naturally we don't always choose our words wisely when we're upset...of course a partner sitting beside us would understand that...Mani's biggest mistake (besides getting a bit too carried away) was to believe he was amongst friends. When something like this happens we all need to talk to someone because we all feel threatened in some way. My Son who is also without a partner is watching the same horror on his T.V. as I am, and knowing that he has no one to talk this over with I make a point of phoning him, no matter how tired I am...because I know that he, like everyone else, needs to talk to somebody about this terrible thing. Mani (our old philosopher) also had that need!! I hang my head in shame at the lack of compassion I've seen displayed here.
