Guest guest
dear members Sanjay posted a web address about Sri Achyuta Das on 13 Sep 2001. I had not seen it yet but i know about its importance. For those students of vedic culture, they are aware that vedic knowledge is transmitted from teacher to pupil or guru to disciple, through generations. By the grace of the guru or teacher, the obstructions on our path of learning are dissipated and we advance nicely. This is the parampara or the trancendental disciplic sucession. We can get the grace from an astrologer by reading his books, but the personal connection to him or her, will be of more benefit, because by his grace we advance faster. Sri Achyuta Das is a jyotish guru from the 16 century and he had the grace of have been in the association with Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. In fact Lord Chaitanya considered Achyuta to be his own brother because the Lord considered Sri Advaita, the father of Achyuta, to be His father. Vedic astrology is not only about studying jyotish, but also about studying vedic literature. The more knowlege you get, the more you will advance in this jyotish science. Here i am posting some nice passages about Sri Achyuta as read from the Bengali classic Sri Caitanya, translated by Srila Prabhupada. I hope that you like it. Acyutananda >From the Caitanya Caritamrita Adi Lila V2, p346, Ch10-T150 Acyutananda-advaita acarya-tanaya Nilacale rahe pranhura carana asraya Acyutananda, the 35th devotee, was the son of Advaita Acarya. He also lived with Lord Caitanya, taking shelter of His lotus feet at Jaganatha Puri AL, v2, ch12-t13-. p8-20 A big branch of Advaita Acharya was Acyutananda, His son. From the beginning of his life he engaged in the service of the lotus feet of Lord Caitanya. T14 When Acyutananda heard from his father that Kesava Bharati was the spiritual master of lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, he was very unhappy. T15 He told his father, "Your instruction that Kesava Bharati is the spiritual master of Caitanya Mahaprabhu will spoil the entire country." T16 "Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu is the spiritual master of the 14 worlds, but You say that someone else is His spiritual master. This is not supported by any revealed scripture." T17 When Advaita Acarya heard this statement from His 5 year old son Acyutananda, He felt great satisfaction because of his conclusive arguments. ****** It follows a purport or explanation by Srila Prabhupada of about 2 pages.
