Srila Prabhupada's Lagna (Capr.)

Hello

I also accept Capricorn Lagna.

Prabhupada himself accepted Capricorn Lagna at least tacitly, in that,

all his life the Horoscope used for him by his astrologers in India was

Capricorn Lagna.

The idea of the Sagit. Lagna came mostly from Nalini Kanta Das and his

book. Nalini, a disciple of Prabhupada, who himself is Cap. Lagna,

simply reasoned that Sagit. was more holy, or spiritual, than Capricorn.

Nalini called Capric. "sinful" or something in his book. Anyway, many

devotees used that book, and got used to thinking that way.

So the argument got rolling that way I think.

Also, some people don't want to see planets in the 8th in Prabhupada's

chart, but then again, Sri Caitanya has a planet in the 8th. I don't

think we need to totally fear planets in the 8th. It's not JUST bad.

It's also related to some interesting spiritual aspects in life.

I've noted that a number of prominent Gurus in modern times are

Capricorn rising, including the Subramuniya Swami (Hindusim Today's

Editor/Leader). I think also Prakashananda Saraswati, if memory serves,

who also really looks it.

A number of difficulties arose in Prabhupadas movement which have ties

to the 8th house, including amongst the persons who were immediately

around him, his "main men" so to speak. I think the 8th house matters

actually did show in his life, and in the mission he created. Also, his

early life, had a number of issues arise, which could be tied to those

placements.

Prabhupada, like any Saint in a human body, had to have a human life.

What is special about Prabhupada, is what he became very late in life.

His early life, is that of a struggling, successful, Indian householder

and businessman, and was not otherwise that spectacular. He did always

have a huge amount of devotion to whatever he was into, which early in

life was his own medicine business. When he joined his Gurus mission, he

was very much serious about it, extremely so. He tried very hard,

unsuccessfully, for many years, to be a major player in preaching in

India.

He had two heart attacks on his begged ship ride to America. My Guru

said of that "that he died, and was emptied, totally emptied, no plan

left, no hope left, no ego left, empty empty empty, by the time he

reached America, and Krishna filled him up, because he had no other

plan, nothing- empty".

I agree with that. Only when we are truly empty, can the Lord fill us

with himself. A heart attached to something else cannot be full of

Krishna. Prabhupada, when we knew him, from his 71st year of life til

his 82nd when he left, was NOTHING BUT a pure devotee of Krishna. That's

what was amazing. The end of his life was unparalelled. He had unlimited

energy, devotion, and no other engagement or business at all except

Krishna. That's what was different about him as compared to any other

person. It was as if he wasn't human at all. He was like a Budha. He was

purified. That purity inspired total devotion in thousands, and the

movement spread fast and for the most part, rather purely, worldwide,

all based on his effulgence.

So in that sense, the exalted Saturn in the tenth prevented the

greatness from manifesting, his career and rise from manifesting, until

late in life, and everything before that simply served as a foundation,

which is a natural reading for exalted Saturn in the 10th.

By the way, just so no misunderstanding about my involvement are

incorrectly infered here, I joined the KC movement 2 years after

Prabhupada's departure. I never met him. I did join because of his

books. I was a disciple and personal secretary/servant of one of his

immediate successors for a few years, with whom I travelled the world

over a few times, then I went on to be with his Godbrother, Sridhar

Maharaja a few years later, out of necessity to find someone more senior

and more stable in their devotion. I am not a good devotee at all, but I

have met them and am trying. Because of being perhaps the most intimite

person with one of his most intimite disciples, perhaps I learned or

heard many things directly from a first hand person who was there.

Although my first Guru had his well known problems, he was still, very

dear to Prabhupada, and very intimite with him, and I was certainly one

of, if not the, closest personal associate of Hansadutta for a number of

years, until the problems made staying impossible on a Vaisnava level.

But to close this portion, I would like to quote Gita: "There is no loss

of the efforts put forth on this path".

Thanks for the opportunity to discuss these matters as I get some joy

out of discussing the lives of the great devotees of the Lord.

Hi Das,

Glad we cleared that up :-)

If I'd taken the trouble to enter 15.45 I would have seen that it too gave

Capricorn Lagna...I just "assumed" that it would move Lagna back into

Sagittarius and I remembered there was much debate about this some time back.

Goes to show it's never prudent to "assume" anything in jyotish :-)

Best Wishes,

Wendy

Namaste, Group

Wonder if Prabhupad is smiling & appreciating our loving "speculations" in

peace about his lagna! : ) I hope we can keep our discussions of jyotish-KC

about His Divine Grace's chart benevolent & on a sharing--loving-

repectful-scholarly-bhakti tone.

So, to begin loving discussion (we can "agree to disagree" in

non-attachment) for what it is worth, energetically-spiritually Prabhupad

feels more very "elevated-fatherly-guru 9th house illumined" type with Sag

lagna than "8th house illumined mystic yogi" type with Capr lagna to me.

And Ra in second house does not jive for me either. (I also personally know

a KC devotee with Cap lagna & "illumined" 8th & Sa 9th LL) & to me there is

a BIG difference energetically, so I am personally hoping we can continue

this deep loving respectful discussion of Prabhupad's charts. Also why

don't we post many of the known dates given in the Biography of His Divine

Grace & continue this exploration as a group? Biography is about 2000 pages

with very explicit dates throughout. I am sure we will be able to zero

lagna in even tighter "scholarship" if we divided up the work & really

looked at many many many dates of his significant life events along with the

ISKCON chart. There is of course argument over the ISKCON chart too, but I

know Robert Koch has speculations for dates for both ISKCON & Prabhupad. My

ISKCON chart info is yet buried in a pile of papers, but I'll look for that.

I also think it would be great fun & jyotish bhakti scholarship to look at

the charts of both senior devotees with Prabhupad & post Prabhupad devotees

(anonymous is fine) as I & others have noticed powerful Sa-Me interactions

in charts of Vaisnavans both pre & post Prabhupad. If you look at the

guru-saints charts Robert & Goravani posted, the Sa-Me energetics are

powerful there as well!

Hare Krsna,

Tara

ps. This is the jyotish I love to do! : )

Blissful : )
