Purushottama Dasa,

Thanks for the tip.

I am on my way out of town, so I am going to make my comments brief.

By Monday or Tuesday I might have more to say.

> (2) "Jupiter is a powerful natural benefic" - this was a generic

statement,

> in the sense that Venus and Jupiter are powerful natural benefics

as opposed

> to Moon and Mercury, who's status is fickle.

Ok. ( That was brief )

> (3) Viparita Raja Yoga -

I have snipped you comments in the interest of brevity for other

readers.

I am simply saying that the sun in Leo broke up the vipreet effect,

and I gave good justification, and I explained why the quoting that

verse was mechanical. Any time you read something in the jyotish

litereature, there is a certain understanding implicit. The implied

understanding is " others considerations notwithstanding." Again I

will say that the logic behind the vipreet effect is that the evil

lords destroy the evil of the house, thereby producing good; but that

the sun in his own sign gives traditional-type strength and fouls the

logic.

Yes, you have been mechanical and you should read the Dharmapada Hora.

> (4) Guru Chandala Yoga - This is usually stated to be caused by the

> conjunction of Rahu and Jupiter. You are the first I know to apply

it to

> Ketu as well.

Raman ascribes the yoga to Ketu also in Notable Horoscopes, I´ll try

to find it. They are an axis, you know. Sitting next to Ketu doesn´t

save you from Rahu´s aspect.

> As I said, K N Rao finds this to be a very spiritual

> combination,

It can be, I mentioned that it depends on the disposition of the

combination. Being in the eighth certainly won´t bring that about per

se.

> (5) My "logic is continually off the wall or misapplied" - This was

your

> response to my statement that "Jupiter is a powerful natural

benefic.

The comment was with reference to various things. But yes, even

though Jupiter will communicate his results to Ketu to a large

degree, being a bad lord in an evil house won´t empower Jupiter to,

in turn, empower Ketu to give results along the lines of the Hare

Krishna movement.

Snip

My aruguments were properly applied and yes, Ketu in the eighth is

evil unless something lifts him up and empowers him, as I have

mentioned above.

You say that because the

> eighth house is evil, Ketu Mahadasha, should have been bad. You say

that

> because Mars aspects the eleventh from a trikona, an elder brother

should be

> there. These seem a bit simplistic to me.

>

Ø (7) Jupiter as karaka for elder siblings –

Ø

Ø Even if you put a lot of emphasis in Jupiter as the karaka of

older brothers, remember that he occupies a masculine sign next to a

masculine planet, the sun, who is dominant in that sign. The

combination squares the house of older brother. So why the single,

female older sibling? And Mars aspects the house.

> (8) Prabhupada's married life - On at least two separate occasions,

I have

> asked you personally to explain the misery Prabhupada endured in

married

Ø life. In your responses, this bit of my mails is conveniently

left out,

Your ´round about logic exasperated me and I cut it at one point. But

the marriage karma isn´t hard to explain.

Although Venus has cancellation of debilitation, there can be some

vestige of the affliction.

The seventh represents the marriage partner, but the eighth is the

status of the marriage and the bond itself. The eighth lord occupies

a dushthan with the 12th lord. So the marital bond was characterized

by aruguing. And it is not like this eighth lord Moon is full of

brightness, either, somewhere near half.

Finally, for decisions on the margin in case of any doubt, the

divisional charts can be consulted, in this case the navamsha. Mars

occupies the house of marriage. If the chart is Sagittarius lagna, it

was close and the chart would certainly be the vargottama lagna. That

would put Mars in the house of marriage in the navamsha.

> because there is absolutely nothing that you can disagree with in my

> argument, and you cannot find significant affliction in the

Sagittarius

Ø chart.

Now why did you say that? Why couldn´t you recognize those

afflictions?

Instead you are concentrate on responding to those arguments which

> are controversial, and you continuously slag them off, through petty

> name-calling and slander.

Your interpretations are rather backwards. You start with the

conclusion, and then stretch things and misapply interpretations in

order to make your point. You have deserved your spanking. You´ll be

more careful next time.

Ø You attempt to take focus away from the difficult

> questions through personal attacks.

I have focused on everything, including your ´round about

misinterpretations.

> I therefore now make this (or shall try to make this) my last

direct mail to

> you on this subject because I don't see my debate with you

progressing

Ø anywhere,

Don´t go yet- we haven´t gotten to the dashas!

On the run.

YS,

Dharmapada
