Guest guest
Do you see how we are all a family on this list? I regret losing even one, contentious or not. I value you all. The clouds of contention gather on the horizon, and who is next to bring them to our attention, and who is next to send them away? The players may change but the scripted roles remain! See this and be calm and peaceful; the world will pass away but your soul will endure forever. At least, that's what I think! I also think it doesn't matter if a work is classical or not; what matters is, does this work contribute to a better understanding of ourselves. If it does, it has merit! Love to all, Carol
Guest guest
Dear Manoj, At 09:42 PM 10/14/01 -0700, you wrote: >Wendy to my mind was discussing astrology. Manoj, did you think I would not see this? What are you talking about? Can you please show/demonstrate some part of Pt. Sanjay Rath's teachings which have no classical backing? >Will it also not amount to taking sides or preferring >people who follow one school blindly and are averse to >others. There are certainly better persons, by far, than myself around, and I hope that they would start contributing. Mostly, such persons (with the exception of Sri K.N. Rao) are busy with their own books or projects, and thus do not contribute to the free distribution of knowledge that comes through this list, or lists like it. You are a knowledgeable person, Manoj. Why don't you contribute more? Further, you have not been paying attention, evidently. Nobody can dispute the fact that Wendy is a sincere, dedicated astrologer with much to offer. She was removed from the list due to the combative, relentless, and chronically aggressive tone with which she would deliver her statements to others. Personal attacks and character assassination were common to her way of dealing. I know of people all over the world, on and off this list, who have been the targets of her often mean and disrespectful manner of treating others. So it is not a matter of lack of knowledge, or preferential treatment, or biases, that prompted Das to remove her. Discussion among learned persons, as well as pious people, should be done with humility, respect, and love. Whenever volatility and uncontrolled anger, due to whatever causes, come into such arenas, and when such persons never learn, then such persons need to be removed. * Anyway, I am all ears for what you have to present that shows that S. Rath is deviating from classical principles. Best wishes, Robert ===================================== Robert A. Guest guest
Dear Robert, It would open a Pandora's Box once again. So if we wish to do it, lets do it off the list, not on the list because if we start it on the list, I run all the danger of being thrown out and hence be deprived of something which is so dear to me, discussing astrology, irrespective of the fact, whether I like it or not (the discussion, not the people discussing it). Moreover, Sanjay is a dear friend. Though I may differ with him on his astrological propagations, on some aspects, but I wish him good, because atleast he is trying to spread the knowledge of astrology, which few knowledgeables wish to do.
