Guest guest
Hi, when i started to study jyotish i came across the system of astakavarga and i was impressed. However, there were not computers available and although i did not have problems with maths due to my background, still with the help of a small calculator i used to take some 2 hours to calculate a full astakavarga chart. It was not very practical and so i took the most practical path for me. I could not wait for computers or books on astakavarga. Let others be experts at it later on. When i read the Graha and Bhava Balas by Raman, i was also impressed but i used to take 6 hours to do the calculations for a single chart. I calculated 10 charts and i gave up cos i was looking for a practical approach. When i read an article about vedic meteorology, i was impressed but i knew that i did not have the tools or background to become efficient at it. However, i recognize that other astrologers in the future will become good at it. It is a question of dedication, studies and skills. After many years of studies, i have been following the practical thing with good results. I hear this and that and i listen but results are the advisers. jyotish is a vast path and we are free to follow our feelings. We may have set-back, or rather, we are going to have them but that is the way to learn. Do not be discouraged, do according to your own capability. Read as many books as you can and practice a lot as well. In 1980 a Hare Krishna devotee in england showed me his new library. He had just come back from India where he bought more that 150 books on yjotish. Another devotee from germany was on a visit to the London ashram from india with a luggage full of shilpa shastra books. If in doubt, ask. If you are lucky you will meet good teachers or books. The path may be hard but rewarding. Best wishes natabara
