Here is the query - In case of some lagnas, even the benefic planets become malefic. For eg. for libra lagna, Jupiter governs third and sixth houses which are dusthanas. Now the question is if Jupiter is in lagna itself, what effects do that give to native? Are the effects benefic or malefic. Since Jupiter has positional strength in Lagna - the rising sign -- it is powerful, but its in libra so in an inimical sign -- what r the repurcussions? Guest guest Posted November 21, 2001 Report Share Posted November 21, 2001 Dear Srikanth Although your question in not complex you will get a variety of answers ..Here is my take .Jupiter rules the 3rd and 6th but the 3rd is it's Moolatrikona sign so the main impact is to have the 3rd Lord in the 1st . The 3rd house is concerned with efforts, iniatives, impulses ,communications so bringing the 3rd Lord to the 1st can bring any of theses attributes to the self .Possibly also Jupiter's natural qualities like wisdom ,religiosness but generally planet's display more of their functional characteristics than natural ones. Assuming Jupiter is strong which of these functional and natural characteristics manifest depends on other combinations in the chart .So for example if Mars is strong the native may be strong in the area of self efforts and iniatives .If Mercury is strong then the native may be good at computers or writing .If the 5th and 9th Lords are strong the native may be quite dharmic . Can u tell me as to how does jupiter's lordship of sixth house affect in the case in question? Third house lord in first house may bring initiatives and courage but sixth house (enemy's house) will affect the native. in what sense?
