Guest guest
Hi Karen <<I am working on a chart of a person who was born in Colchester, Essex,England. The coordinate data I have is 0E54, 51N54 and the date of birthis March 1968. The problem I am having that the ACS atlas in GJ is listingthe time zone as 1.0. Can this be correct? Could it be a bug? I wouldthink that it would be 0.0 being less than a degree from the Greenwichmeridian. Can anyone shed some light on this who is more familiar with UKdate. I appreciate any help.>> According to the book Time Changes in the World by Doris Chase Doane, The summer time in England wento from 18 February 1968 to 31 Oct 1971. Best wishes natabara So the date that you mention has an hour added due to summer time. Das already told me about a bug in the GJ only for countries on GMT but i cannot remember which years. Meantime i always check the summer times with that book cos i calculate a lot of charts for the UK.
Guest guest
England had a funky time code in 1968, during this time all of england was on a -1 time zone, then in march 17 DST was in effect. So from March 17, 1968- oct 27 1968 the time zone was actually -2. Guest guest
Dear Natabara, Thanks so much for looking that up for me. It sounds like a wonderful book to own. You've been a great help. I do also recall Das saying something about a bug for places near Greenwich but do recall exactly either. God Bless, Karen According to the book Time Changes in the World by Doris Chase Doane, The summer time in England wento from 18 February 1968 to 31 Oct 1971.
