I had a talk to nurses and according as well to the Time Tables by Doris Chase

Great Britain changed the official time from GMT to EET (or 1 hour east) from

18 feb 1968 at 2 am GMT to 31 Oct 1971 2am gmt.

 

Can you name the source for your quote that there was a double time then.
