Guest guest
Dear Ernest, the Tine Changes in The World by Doris Chase Doane 1994 revised Edition. Mentions. DST observed in GB as 1967 3/19 -10/29 1968 2/18 -1971 10/31 1972 3/19 -1-/29. Those changes are always at 2am GMT. Do you have an email to get in touch with the ACS Atlas books? I would like to get this important issue solved. In my experience, Doris Tables are ok because the government is complaining that they want to take off this Summer Time Business. A double time would put a lot of stress here. However, there is a group saying that it would be a good idea to go into a permanent summer time to be together with central Europe. Changes at 2am except ending dates of DST. It seems that we have a printing mistake here.
Guest guest
Dear Natabara, it seems that Doris' book is different on this point. When the Acs atlas was begun they based thier times zones initially on DOri's book which was the first and only thing of its kind, and certainly the best researched data available at the time. But then ACS started to improve upon Doris's tables, so usually when there is a discrepancy it is ACS that is correct. At least it is so in the US, other countries are generally more simple then the US. I have found typos in the ACS atlas, so that is a possiblity and worth checking out with them. Unfortuanately I don't have thier contact info with me. I just moved and a lot of my stuff is still stored away in another town. I would suggest trying to search for thier website.
