Dear John

Ah Dhanista . I don't think I have a single Dhanista in my records with a

suceessful marrital history.

The presiding deity of Dhanista is the Vasus who played a trick on a sage

who cursed them to fall to earth . The last of the Vasus was the great

ksatriya Bhisma who took a lifelong vow of celibacy . He was a powerful

fighter and many qualified women wanted to marry him but he never deviated

from his vow . For a member of the royal order to take a vow of celibacy was

very unusual .This would seem to be the origin of the difficulties in

relationships .
