Guest guest Posted January 9, 2002 Report Share Posted January 9, 2002 Dear Nicholas, I really am not one to memorise all the different yogas, doshas, etc...too time consuming, and common sense tells you of auspicious/inauspicious unions anyway :-) In regards to the Bhakoota dosha producing difficulty in regards to children, the logic is (to my mind) quite simple. The 5th governs children and the 9th governs grandchildren. Now according to the dictums of jyotish, planets in 5/9 relationship have become temporary enemies. So it may not be too difficult to see that two such important aspects as Lagna/Moon in 5/9 relationship may be adverse for the couple's ability to have children. Generally we do a Nakshatra Compatibility Analysis and then do the overall horoscope matching when we try to match the good and bad dashas of the couple. Like both shouldn't have the bad dasas at the same time. Also we see other various aspects. But as u have asked about the 5/9 relationship. I am not sure whats the logic behind it but if you look at any book on Mahurtha where it has been discussed about the 8 Main parameters of compatibility, it says for Bhakoota Dosha as: "Bhakoota" refers to the relative position of the moon sign of the groom and the bride. If the relative position of the groom and the bride is 5/9, 6/8 or 2/12 they get no points else they get 7 points. There are some cases to discuss before giving them points. Same moon sign- they can have the same moon sign but different nakshatra or the different quarter of the nakshatra. 2/12 position- if the bride rasi is 12 from the groom then it is malefic more when rasi lords are enemies. 5/9 position- It is said that this might cause problem to progenies. More when bride is 5th from the groom's rasi. 6/12 position- It is bad and causes disease more when rasi lords are enemies. The Bhakoota according to some looses maleficence when rasi lords are friends.For example, Aries-Virgo, Gemini-Scorpio, Leo-Capricorn, Libra-Pisces, Saggi-Taurus, and Aquarius-Cancer. They are not good.Also Scorpio-Aries, Cancer-Sagii, Virgo-Aquarius, Capricorn - Gemini, Libra-Taurus and Pisces –Leo.
