Dear Robyn

you

<<Thanks so much for those calendars.>>

me

Very welcome to them, i am just trying to give some important tools to vedic

astrologers, and in an easy, concise and clear format.

you

<< I am new to Vedic astrology (learning on Roeland de Looff's course at Dirah

Academy), >>

me

Although i do not know much about all those new courses i am aware that there

are a lot of teachers on vedic astrology, and it is nice to hear that it has

been increasing in acceptance and use in the west.

you

<<and learning as much as I can from the lists.>>

me

There is a lot to learn from anywhere. And we are very fortunate to have this

new media which is the internet that is facilitating our learning world-wide.

<< I have attempted to find a Vedic astrologer in South Africa with no luck so

far.>>

me

I guess that it is the nature of this learning. In 1976 when i first became

aware of this wonderful vedic science, i think that i was the only one in Paris

practising and studying it. By 1980, i was teaching it to a British student in

Newcastle and it was helpful that he knew western astrology before and that he

was very entusiastic to learn. Later on in 1982, i met with a British vedic

astrologer student starting to study in London. He had just bought in India a

collection of more than 100 books to read and to learn, and he also bought some

vedic astrology software for computers to speed up his calculations. I still

have his 3 small books that he gave me then. To date, as far as i know, here

in the north of England there are only 3 practising vedic astrologers; myself,

my friend in Newcastle and my friend Hindu pujari at the Newcastle Hindu

Temple.

There may be others but they are only students and do not practise much, perhaps

only for themselves and relatives.

In London there are about 20 or 30 that i have heard off but they are increasing in numbers.

you

<< But I am really hooked on this wonderful science. >>

me

Me too, there is a lot to learn from it.

Best wishes

Natabara Das
