Guest guest
Dear Cynthia I agree the stock market will not crash . I also believe that with Jupiter going into Cancer and Rahu also going into exaltation the second half of the year will be good for the economy . There may be in the next few months a lowering of expectations as the accounting tricks are exposed and the losses to the economy from the fall are felt .However previous Rahu Saturn conjunctions have not led to slumps in the stock market and with Venus stabilising the stellium and even Rahu exalted I don't agree with sensationalist predictions . February 1962 saw a big line up but the world did not shift on it's axis . I'm not in the US but the carictature of the US we have hear is a nation putting the 7th bathroom on their houses whilst their infrastructure has crumbled . If this is true then some rebuilding needs to be done but it does not sound like something GWB would spearhead . Still as you say Taurus would support such an undertaking so is this your prediction ? Nicholas In response to the market. I won't say that it will steadily rise, although Taurus is pretty good at making money. Rather, I will go on record as saying it will not crash, even with the heavy stellium. Taurus us just too stabile and too keenly associated with wealth. Don't forget that Venus will be there along with Mars from April 20th until the 16th or so. I think that will keep spending moving. Think about Venus with Rahu and Mars and that is a pretty indulgent picture. By the time Mars passes Saturn, Venus catches up with him and Rahu is waiting in restless Mrigashira. Mrigashira is another mentally restless nak. Don't forget that Daksha became a stag and chased Rohini into Mriga. There, he was shot with an arrow and his "head" cut off. I see this as symbolic that he had lost his mind in desire. Anyway, we will see. There are very conservative market gurus suggesting that people begin to get back in. Then again, in 1934 mars, Saturn, Rahu and Pluto were all linked together and the US began a massive governmentally supported rebuilding and jobs campaign. What we have to show for it are public parks, roads, damns and stadiums. The US began assembling into the nation we are now. I see it as a time for national participation in similar rebuilding (Saturn with Pluto) and that would not hurt the market, nor would it cause it to skyrocket. Let's not forget that Jupiter moves into exaltation in July. I like to look at what has been and see what opportunities may lie ahead. Uranus in AQ is very good for new technology but then again, so is a war economy. What happened to Andrew? I assumed that he was busy with his niece. cynthia

February 1962 saw a big line up but the world did not shift on it's axis . [me} exactly! How about the lineups in '44, '55 1-'94 10-95 the last one on the ecliptic path. Of these the '94 one was accompanied by an earthquake in California. [me] We must all avoid assuming that our images or caricatures are true. I've traveled quite a bit an find the world's people more alike than different. I don't know anyone with 7 bathrooms <grins> and do know that his is a nation built on the backs of immigrants. We struggle because we have a harder time telling immigrants no than other nations. Still, when the nation's karma seems to be the superpower it is difficult not to be seen as a bully. I don't know what you know about GWB, I knew he would be president based upon his kala sarpa chart early on. He did not say "I want to be the nominee" He said "I'll see if there is support for my making a run." He surrendered to the process and that statement told me that destiny was at work rather than egol. I do not agree with him on some things and like him on others. I do know that he continues to surprise his detractors and supporters alike. Living in a democracy suggests that if he does not do his job well, he will be ousted. In fact, we elect representatives every 2 years so the climate changes quickly. I do not know what you base your satement that the infrastructure is crumbling upon. wWould you elaborate??? c Nicholas In response to the market. Guest guest
Dear Cynthia A couple of brief comments on your points The reason why people outside the US follow the US markets is that the US is the driving force of the world economy .Even in 1929 when things were far less globalised than now the crash on wall street sparked a global depression .As astrologers also it gives us an area to predict in where other people can know what we are talking about .My brother who is an economist for a large bank gets to work and is briefed on what happened overnight in the US first up . I think these sensational predictions give astrology a bad reputation (here I am referring to astrologers who go to the media not persons who wish to discuss ideas on a jyotish list) since they fail. The goal is name, fame, adoration and distinction .These cause anxiety in the minds of the gullible and those people who do not have the intellectual equipment to deal with them .It is irresponsible and might have negative implications in karma . I think you have made an excellent point about the need for astrologers to identify strength and opportunities in charts rather than just dwell on the problems .While it is true that people come to see jyotishis when in trouble what better way to take their mind from their troubles than to identify opportunities that the client had not previously considered .Jyotishis having difficulty doing this could benefit from William Levacy's book which gives good points on what are normally considered poor placements . As for my comments on US infrastructure there is a belief outside the US that it's low taxation combined with high military expenditure means it has comparitively weak infrastructure in terms of roads, public schools and hospitals, water etc . I do not have first hand experience to go on . It may be that it is only true in poorer areas where taxation revenues are small . well it wasn't brief but best wishes to all Nicholas
