Guest guest
Dear all namaskar! I am very new to jyotisha vidya, and I am battling to understand how to apply the concepts of transit and dasa-bhukti to a chart. I have read material on various sites regarding how to construct the raasi kundali and some information on the houses, lords etc. Could any of you explain this simply or direct me to a site that does. Thanks. Ash Greetings - Send FREE e-cards for every occasion! http://greetings.
Guest guest
Om namah shivaaya! Hi Ash, I'm also a beginner, so I'm addressing your latter part of your request, by recommending the following sites, that may be of some help: http://www.geocities.com/clarity2020 vedic astrology http://sanjayrath.tripod.com/ http://www.astropanorama.com/Learn_Astrology.html It's a treasure. Long way to go. Guest guest
Thanks so much for the help. Will definately read up the material on those sites. I guess I could make my question a little more direct - I'll use my own horoscope for an example (which I constructed with the help of a program online). Here are the details of the chart which I really hope someone could verify for me if they have any time. Date of birth: 19 November 1982 Place: 29 S 53, 31 E 2 (Durban, South Africa) Time: 16h30 Apparently, my lagna is Mesha (1), and the positions of the grahas are as follows: Rahu is in 3rd house (mithunam) Jupiter and Saturn in 7th house (tulam) Venus, Mercury and Sun in 8th house (vrikshikam) Ketu, Moon and Mars (lagnapati) in 9th house (Dhanus) (I am still confused as to whether my janma nakshatra should be considered as Moola or Purvasadha- my feeling is the latter.) With this information available I'm trying to further my knowledge of how the grahas would aspect each other in this set up, and how the transits of the planets would change the nature of the chart reading over time. How can the birth chart have any kind of real finality if the grahas are always moving houses? Currently, according to the online calculator I'm in Sun dasa, from 1996 to Nov 2002, followed by Moon till 2012. What can I draw from that to help the prediction? Some help in interpreting this pls! They don't, to my knowledge, have extensive databases for places of birth. For that you can always look up the free (tropical)chart at the Astrodienst website, which also gives daylight saving time and of course time zone. You can then insert the correct lat/long and DST where applicable in your jyotish software. I use Jagannatha Hora Lite. Your moon nakshatra is Poorvashada. The longitudinal degrees of the planets and Ascendant will change according to the ayanamsha you choose to use. > > With this information available I'm trying to further > my knowledge of how the grahas would aspect each other > in this set up, me: The classical aspects of the planets (graha dhristi) are: all planets aspect the 7th house counted from their own (included) Mars also aspects the 4th and 8th Jupiter also aspects the 5th and 9th Saturn also aspects the 3rd and 10th there is not a universal agreement on aspects from Rahu and Ketu: many astrologers state that Rahu aspects the 5th and 9th. But it's not so simple. In your researches you will find that all the planets aspect the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and so on, from themselves, but with less impact. The aspects above are the ones which will be 100% strong. Also you will find that whereas most astrologers don't take orb into account, others will only use aspects with close orbs (example: plus or minus 5 degrees). You will also find the Rasi aspects. According to the Jaimini Sutras, the signs aspect each other "in front", but not the signs which are "next"... (this is just my reporting from memory, so please check for yourself). The Jaimini Sutras are rather obscure and there have been very interesting interpretations. The Rasi aspects have been taken by astrologers to mean: movable signs aspect fixed signs except the one next to it fixed signs aspect movable signs except the one next to it dual signs aspect each other So you see, you will have to do a lot of research and studying. I would suggest you buy a book for beginners if you can. >and how the transits of the planets > would change the nature of the chart reading over > time. How can the birth chart have any kind of real > finality if the grahas are always moving houses? Now I can only give my personal answer. The transits and the dasas of the planets will not change the nature of the chart. Let me use a metaphor. In a room music is playing. It has been playing before you entered and will when you go away. The music exists because the record on the good old stereo is turning round and round and the diamond needle of the stereo in the everchanging grooves produces the melody. When you enter the room you start hearing the music. You will hear the rest of the melody for the time you stay, but the effect of the melody on you will depend on those very first notes you heard when you entered. Time after time, the melody will reproduce some notes that are so similar to the first ones, at other times they will apparently resound in a different way. The notes will always resound in you, giving you different feelings. But the melody is one and you are one with the record, the needle, the music. > > Currently, according to the online calculator I'm in > Sun dasa, from 1996 to Nov 2002, followed by Moon till > 2012. What can I draw from that to help the > prediction? Look at where the Sun is in the chart, the aspect he receives and gives, look also to the house the Sun rules (LEO), look also at the Sun's dispositor (the planet ruling the sign in which the Sun is in) and see where he has gone... look at the sun's strength ... It's hard work for a beginner... but you will discover so many things! > > Some help in interpreting this pls! > Thanks again! > > Ash > Best wishes Maddalena > > > Sports - sign up for Fantasy Baseball > http://sports. > > > > Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya; Hare Krishna; Om Tat Sat > : gjlist- > > > > Your use of is subject to > >
