Thanks for this chart. I must say that I'm a beginner as you can see here, but

have given a look at this chart as I'm quite interested in health and what

charts show in the physical body as well as other indicators. So I have taken

this more as chart for study rather than that I am experienced enough to help

you. Still though thought I'd share this with you, but please don't take any of

this too strongly from this beginner.

 

So for this chart looking for stammer, we would naturally give emphasis to the

2H as house of speech. Also Mercury as natural ruler of 2H and speech. And we

might want to check Saturn as well as Saturn rules nerves and it's thought that

nerves may be a contributing factor to stammer in some individuals.

 

An interesting thing about this chart is Mercury is exalted, which would lead

one to think no problem with speech, and quite the contrary.

 

Further considerations to Mercury though is he is also the lord of 2nd house,

and Mercury is with Saturn conjoined. Saturn ruler of 6th (and 7th). For Leo

Lagna, Saturn is most inauspicious. So right away we do start seeing some

problems with Mercury as you pointed out. And since we know stammering is the

problem, this makes it much easier. I would think we would also want to check

the condition of Sun being that the Sun is a natural karaka for body and also

the Ascendent lord, again indicating physical body. And we would also check the

Ascendant itself. And any benefics or malefics aspecting these points mentioned

above.

 

In his rasi chart, Mercury is also lord of 11H Gemini, with Rahu there. And

Mercury/Saturn conjunction is 12H from Moon.

 

In this chart Sun is also in the 1H. Since Sun is karaka for the body, it is

harmful to have this Sun in the 1H.

 

Ascendant is in Nakshatra Magha, lorded by Ketu and sub lord Saturn and sub - sub lord Saturn.

Sun is also in Magha with Ketu lord, this time Jupiter sub lord, and again Saturn sub - sub lord.

 

For Nakshatra Magha - physiology and diseases: nose, lips and chin.

 

According to Krishnamurti, the strongest influence on any planet are the planets

located in the nakshatras belonging to the said planet. Looking at the condition

of this Sun: Mercury is the only planet in Nakshatra ruled by Sun. We have

already looked at the influences on Mercury in the Rasi. For Mercury here,

there are no planets in the Nakshatras ruled by Mercury.

 

2H cusp is Virgo lorded by Mercury with Nakshatra lord Sun (Venus as sub and sub

- sub lord). In Cuspal chart itself Saturn in 2H (with Pluto), and now Mercury

on Ascendant and Sun in 12H conjoined Venus in Cancer ruled by Moon. Rahu still

in 11H ruled by Mercury.

 

Aspects in rasi by Rasi dristi: both Ketu and Rahu have Rasi dristi on 2H, and

therefore Mercury and Saturn.

 

Rasi chart: No benefics in kendras.

 

In Navamsa Ascendent is Gemini, Mercury ruled, with again Sun in Ascendant which

again as karaka for body is harmful for physical health. Navamsa Lagnesh Mercury

is in the 8H with Jupiter in Capricorn, lorded by Saturn. And Saturn in 3H in

Leo ruled by Sun.

 

So there seems to be a lot going on with this chart bringing together a harmed

Sun, for physical significators, and indicators to Mercury and Saturn. On top

of that Ketu is also strongly present in this at the subtler level of Nakshatra

lord and sub lord along with Saturn's influence there again. And influence from

Rahu.

 

In Navamsa, lord of 2H is Moon in 11H Aries lorded by Mars. Mars is in 10H conjoined Rahu.

 

In Shashthamsa chart of health troubles, Mercury is in 6H (disease), 2H has

Jupiter, ruler of the 8H, and Saturn is in 11H in Jupiter lorded sign Pisces.

Sun again in Lagna!

 

What's interesting here in this varga chart of health troubles, his 3H has

debilitated Mars in Cancer with Ketu and Rahu! With that and the loaded 3H in

Rasi and Cuspal chart, and Saturn in 3H Navamsa in sign of Leo connecting so

much with Sun, I'm wondering if this man hears correctly or has any problem

with hearing that may also possibly be affecting his speech?

 

In Rasi chart 8th lord Jupiter in 3H is in Swati Nakshatra, Rahu lord, Saturn

sub lord. Mars also in 3H, also in Swati with Rahu lord, Mars sub lord! (Moon

who is 12H lord is there as well in 3H but in Vashakha.)

 

3H cusp in Swati as well with Rahu lord and sub lord, Mars sub - sub lord.

Swati's deity is Vayu and Ayurvedically-speaking is Vata.

 

Enough ;-) I have read somewhere that Ketu can also give stammer problems when

in 2H, so perhaps here too with his influence... and what of Rahu's contacts

with this? - (I don't know if it too gives stammer when in 2H.)

 

There are also things going on in this chart with Yogas but I'm still not studied in them yet...

I am definitely a beginner but appreciate your thoughts. Great to learn that

we are finding Ketu really a large contributor for this along with Mercury

and Saturn. Doing these charts with this direction from IIona and Visti is a

great way for me to learn ;-)

 

Visti would know more than I regarding Sun in this. My thoughts are that a

strong Sun and Ascendant lord, which is both in this case (as well as being

in Ascendant), would have to be looked at as some charts show potential for

problems that don't occur and I read sometimes this is due to the strong Sun

as karaka for body and the same of Ascendant lord.

 

Would you Visti and IIona also consider this? I see what you have written

IIona about the influence on Ketu where Sun has Ketu as Nakshatra lord,

IIona, and also the fact that it is firey. But also I'm meaning in general -

for the health. What do you do - do you use it in this way I have?

 

This is interesting using 3H, and shows clearly in this varga chart of

health. I did read when looking for something such as speech and we know to

use the karaka Mercury, then we would also go to the 3H as Mercury is

natural karaka for this house to look for the same indications. (Another

would be 5H for children and then Leo.) Been looking for this in my book

again, and now haven't found it for this post. In this case the same

thinking to be used, as you said IIona, for 2H and Taurus.

 

In Light on Life, authors state for diseases: Moon rules mouth problems,

Mercury disorders of skin and nerves and Saturn nerve disorders as well.

This is also interesting regarding this chart. I don't want to throw too

many things in here but this is more insight perhaps as we go deeper into a

chart. This all certainly points to a nerve disorder in this chart causing

this stammering.

 

And KETU - definitely involved here and in stammering which makes great

sense.

 

I loved this reference you made IIona - "Stammering and hasty speech might

be prominent in people having fiery ascendants while unclear and slurred

speech might be prominent in people

having watery ascendants and difficulty to express or tensed speech might be

prominent in earthy signs." Very good, and helpful with using the basics so

clearly in this way.

 

Visti, to further my understanding, what do you make of what I have often

seen written, "If the karaka for a house is in the house itself, it is not

auspicious for living things, though it is productive for non-living

things."?

 

I do see your reasoning for Sun here to be able to "burn out the problem"

and your thoughts regarding light. Just for further understanding in future

charts, I would like to get a fuller understanding regarding this of karaka

of living things.... and in particular Sun in 1H.

 

Also, I wondered if since this is Leo, and Sun as Ascendant lord, this would

change this above some, but decided to follow these rules I have seen so

often. My youngest son also has Leo with Sun, Moon and Mercury in Ascendant,

so this too will help me to understand this in his chart as well.

 

IIona, thank you for sharing these other charts with us - and the wonderful

gift of what remedies are used for stammer with both Homeopathy and Bach!

regarding your question about health and the Sun I found the following: "The

Sun is the most omportant of all planets, for he rules our vital energy.

Without Sun the entire world would be plunged into darkness. Sun stands for

growth physical and moral and hence POWER. Sun rules the 5th sign of the

zodiac called LEO. Sun is also the karaka planet for lagna."

Thus an unafflicted Sun is most important for all of our health matters.

One thought to Ketu and stammering: let`s imagine that stuttering or

stammering is like a traffic jam, there are too many words to come through

and they are somehow under barrier effect. Then they come out suddenly like

going through a build-up.

Ketu seems to represent this effect hence Ketu is closed at the end. Thus

the words cannot go through in correct order.
