Dear Palanivelu

Om Namah Shivaaya,

you<<Namashkar!. I'm a beginner in this god's service. I have been following

glist messagesfor last 8 months. I want to thank you for your wonderful service

to this list and to manyin need. I hope your are recovering faster from your

health problems. I pray to God to keepyou in good health and spirits. Your

messages have been very down to earth approach, whichapparently helps beginners

like me to understand this complicated science.>>

me

Many thanks for your feed-back, encouragement, well wishes, prairies and kudos

(american slang that i have learned from Das). In regard to <<this complicated

science.>>, it may look complicated in the beginning like any other science, but

after some time of dedication and study it becomes easy to understand.

you

<<Well, I live in a town called Haverhill in USA, north east. Basically I'm from

India and staying here since 1996 with my wife and a 5 years old daughter. I'm

working for atelecommunications company as a software developer. ( My wife is

pregnant now and expecting in the first week of June).>>

me

Many thanks, it helps to visualise in my mind about your geographical position.

Congratulations and good wishes for your new adventure in a foreign country, to

you and your family. It is nice to hear that software developers can be

interested in vedic astrology. It is wonderful to hear that you and your good

wife are expecting a new baby soon. I wish you all the best.

you

<<I thought of giving your moon calendar a try. I clearly understood the TB and

CB as you've well very explained. >>

me

Many thanks. And i have to say that when a family follows the moon calendar, all

the members may have a different Tara Balas (TB) and Chandra balas (CB), but in

regard to plan ahead a project like a journey, the leader member of the family

leads with his/her TB and CB. Although priority has to be given to the 4

energies in the Moon calendar, ie. week day, moon day, TB and CB, when unable

to find a day with all 4 energies been good, the Tara Bala has to be good to

promise a good outcome. Raman says that even when we cannot find a good Tara

Bala, the event should be started at Noon (12 hours), to protect the

enterprise. I have seen that to work fairly. That is because noon time is

called Abhijit muhurtha, and it is say by rishis that abhijit muhurtha protect

enterprises.

you

<<My janma rasi is Pisces and naksatra is Revathi, pada 3.>>

me

This data is very helpfulfor the moon calendar, thanks.

you

My birth details are: 28 Oct 1966; 6:40 AM IST, Erode (77 E 44 11 N 21) India. >>

me

This is also helpful for possible later readings.

you<<I've altered the GMT time given by you to match my EST, by reducing 5

hours.>>

me

Well done, by reducing 5 hours to GMT's calculations, will give the official

time for EST. However, you can adjust if you wish, that time zone to the

Summer time by adding 1 hours. That means taking only 4 hours less to GMT.

you

<< I was not very comfortable in my calculations. If you don't mind going

through this for me once, >>

me

In the beginning we are likely to make mistakes in the calculations, do not

worry. Not at all, i do not mind doing that again, that is why i am here to

explain that which needs clarification.

you

<<I highly appreciate your help. Help me with the correct timings from

13-Aprl-02 to 19-Apr-02. I will proceed from there. >>

me

No problema amigo. It is like learning to ride a bike, just help me in the

first meters and i will drive alone the rest.

you

<<I had problems when C1 stayed same on 13 & 14. >>

me

Easy to explain that. The speed of the moon varies. And when the moon is slow,

it takes longer to cross a constellation (naksatra). Therefore, in some days we

can see the moon staying in a naksatra in two dates, unless there is a mistake

in printing.Lets see the example

AR CB= 10 G

14-Apr-02

LD2 23:07 G/G

C1 00:16 TB= 3 X/G

AR CB= 10 G

On 12 April, the Moon ended the nakstra (I called naksatra to stay with the

vedic idea because some people take constellation as to be a zodiac sign, and

as we know, a sign equals 2 naksatras and a pada or 9 padas (navamsas), at

21:43 GMT and went into naksatra 1 (C1). The next day we will see the moon in

naksatra 1 and is going to cross that naksatra until the 14 April at 0:16 GMT.

Please remember that at that time and date, the moon goes into naksatra 2 changing the Tara Bala.

TA CB= 11 G

Moon Light Day (LD) 2 ends at 23:07 GMT. At that time, the moon starts LD3,

which ends on 16 April at 00:32 GMT.

LD3 is one of the best days to cut hair and nails, provided that the moon day

does not fall on Friday and Saturday. That is what i follow for the past 20

plus years, and it works. The nails and hair grow more healthy and stronger.

Light Moon days best for cutting nails and hair are the 3,5,7, 10, 11 and 13

and avoiding Fridays and Saturdays

The calculation of the Moon days are related to the speed of the Sun and The

Moon. At new Moon, both are at zero degrees from each other. Every time that

the Moon separates 12° away from the Sun, we have the starting of a Moon day.

Therefore, when the Moon is separated from the Sun between 24° and 36° we have the 3rd moon day.

Because of the speed of the Sun and the Moon, the moon days varies in lenght.

That is why somedays we see a Moon day all day, and in other days we may see

the end of two Moon days.

you<<Will you please give your postal address in your reply. I have some

personal questions, for which I need your advice, later.>>

me

I will post my new address later because i am in the process of moving.

Regarding questions, easy answers i can reply, but difficult ones like deep

readings, I cannot.

My recovery is funny to understand. 12 months ago i could not walk at all, now

i can walk 1 mile in a day but i have to take rest for a week after that. I

can answer easy questions but not deep readings. I can lift 1 KG but not 20 KG

as before.

see for April 2, your CB ends at 19:50, therefore for you, it should say 9 G/G.

Because after ( / ) 19:50 it is CB 10 which is also good (G).

The only bad (X) chandra balas are the 6 (debts, enemies); 8 (end of things,

destruction); and 12 (losses, falls, expenditure).

I do wish that Das provides with the functions for this moon calendar in his

next version of the GJ. It would be more practical for any place on earth to

get the Moon calendar (TB's and CB's) at the touch of a button, for the local

"official" time, instead of calculating from GMT.

For 1 April, you TB should be 8 G/G. Because Tara Bala 8 is good (G) and so is

TB 9.

Also look at <<C17 20:04 TB= 9 X/G>>. It shoult be TB 9 G/X, because TB is bad

(X).

For <<C18 19:50 TB= 1 G/X>>. It is TB 1 X/G, because TB 2 is good.

Remember that Good tara balas are 2,4,6,8 and 9. and bad Tara Balas are 1,7,5

and 3 in increasing proportion. This means that TB 1 is bad but mild and TB 3

is bad and the worst.

For <<SG CB= 10 G/X>>. It should be CB = 10 G/G because the 11th CB is also

good.

Remember that Chandra Balas 1,2,3,4 ,5,7,9,10 and 11 are good.

For <<DD6 ??? :14 X/G >> It should be DD6 22:14 X/G.

Regarding the Tara Balas, you should count Revati (27) as your Tara Bala 1, it

seems that you had done the mistake of counting 1 as the next nakastara to

Revati.**

Regarding the Chandra Balas, I do not know why you have been taking Aries as CB

10 when it should be CB 2.

You can see that i have corrected from the 13 to the 30 April.

Any questions?

Best wishes

Natabara Das
