Dear List

I have been following with interest the postings about snakes course. Although

I am not an expert on it, I am posting here my points of view.

Cynthia said

<<I am very suspicious when a person is told he has a curse forsomething that he

did not do and that the only way out of it is big money>>

I agree on this. There are some people jumping on marketing opportunities to

make a profit out of it. That brings a very bad karma either in this life or

in the next.

However, we have to see the root of this problem.

Every country has a set of beliefs that is rooted in a far-gone past and they

have been mixed with imposed modern and imperfect notions.

A new set of leaders have moulded this present materialistic society, with their

corrupted, imperfect, selfish and conditioned ideas. Therefore, they have

missed many good cultural tools from the past.

In India, snakes are called nagas, and the course of the nagas is very difficult

to treat. However, only experts can deal with that and not charlatans.

Courses may come from many sources and we should be cautious of not attracting

them. Nevertheless, they must come according to our actions done in previous

lives or even actions done in this one.

I remember that when I was a child, a neighbour told me that when a husband

displeases his wife in a direct or indirect way, he would get a course.

He told me an example that one day, he left for work leaving his wife in a bad

humour, and therefore he had a bad day at work due to “her course”. Since then

he always made sure that his wife was in a happy mood each time he left for work

or to other destinations.

Be aware of the power (sakti) generated by most of the ladies.

A friend of mine told me that when we walk on the mystical path, we attract

“invisible” followers. I understand this to be like the “helpers ” entities of

the Mexican shamans. My friend told me, that even if we forgive our enemies,

our “invisible helpers” may not forgive them, and therefore, our enemies will

suffer from the attacks of those helpers. Sorry guys, I cannot help it. Be

beware of my helpers, I am a nice guy but my helpers can be vicious.

I am writing this while listening the CD of Trini Lopez, and now he is singing

La Bamba, “Para bailar la Bamba se necesita una poca de gracia.” “To dance La

Bamba, we need a little bit of divine grace”.

Raman mentions in his book of 300 Yogas, under Pisacha Grastha Yoga, that the

native will suffer from the attack of ‘spirits’.

In ayurveda, we know that by insulting the elders, the demigods, saintly people,

etc, we will be prone to suffer some diseases that can be treated only by the

experts.

Any course is considered like a disease, and therefore in a way, just by being

in this reincarnation, it means that somehow, we have been coursed.

Every course can be treated with medicines, and the course of being here in this

particular reincarnation has also a medicine, the highest medicine for this

course is the chanting of the maha Mantra with sincerity.

It may take some years or some life times to clear our course but the maha

mantra is the supreme medicine for this course.

The mantra will clean our heart from any pollution gathered by our sinful

activities in the past, present and future.

The Prasna Marga (I am taking for reference, the one translated by J.N.Bhasin),

says “Sin committed in previous lives takes the shape of disease in this life.

The cure of the disease is achieved through medicine, charity, japa, sacrificial

fire and worship.

Diseases have been considered as caused by (i) the anger of gods and demons (ii)

the transits of planets and (iii) disturbance of the three humours of the body

–wind, bile and phlegm.” P. 310-311

On page 312 he says “ Different kinds of sins leading to different kinds of

diseases and various types of atonements for the removal of disease have been

dealt with in detail by Sayanacharya in his “Karma Vipak”.

On page 394 we read “If Jupiter lord of the house of badha is located in 6th,

8th, or 12th house and in Kendra to Rahu (1st, 4th, 7th or 10th from Rahu), the

badha (trouble) should be deemed to arise due to wrath of serpents of a high

class. If such a Jupiter is in Kendra (corner) from Gulik it is caused by

serpents of inferior types. Rahu located in the house of badha also indicates

trouble from serpents. The serpents class being high or low depends on the

influence by association or aspect of Sun & Moon (they make them high,

otherwise it means a low class).”

>From page 397 we read “If Mars is in Kendra to Rahu the trouble should be

considered as arising from cutting down the tree sheltering the serpent or

digging up his pit or killing it or destroying his pit”

Notice that even an indirect action can cause the course from snakes.

This reminds me that when a temple or house is going to be built, the architect

is supposed to go together with an astrologer and a guru, to the tree intended

to be cut down in order to use its wood in the construction of the building and

to the quarry from were stone is going to be extracted for the use of the

intended building.

The architect chooses the material, the astrologer chant some mantras requesting

the living entities (both visible and invisible), inhabiting those materials, to

please move out to other places, and the guru verifies that the operation is

positive and gives his benediction.

Notice that violence is avoided in these operations. We have to use the please

word and be nice to every living being. A Vaisnava is supposed to develop this

nice nature which is the natural mood of the soul before getting intoxicated by

this material environment.

Therefore we should be careful in all our actions because knowing or unknowing,

willingly or unwillingly, we are likely to suffer later from every reaction.

As Vedic astrologers we have a more karmic responsibilities towards others, and

therefore we should be very cautious in all our words, intentions and actions,

which can be seen from the 2nd, 5th and 10th houses respectively.

Karma can appear to us either in this life or in the next ones. Higher demigods

decide about it.

I remember that long ago (1970), the Mazatec Indians in the mountains of Mexico

performed a ritual on my behalf, and I ended asking for forgiveness even to the

stones, due to my awareness of the karmic implications brought out by those

Mazatec shamans.

I recommend to Vedic astrologers to study the Prasna Marga which gives very

important clues about courses, evil eye. Etc.

Best wishes

Natabara Das

dear freind

I do believe in the power pooja and jaap . it has its own effect.

Ya this pooja u cannot do on ur own u gotta get it done from some pujari who usually does this pooja

pls note that i have done this pooja for myself thru a pujari in trimbakeshwar

(nasik) this was told to me by my astrologer .

first i would suggest that u ocnsult a proper astrologer and find out if

actually there is any sarp dosh

and u can consult from him regarding where it should be done

also i would say that some people have commented on the list that u can be

fooled for this , it could be possible also some people have said that the

charges are exorbidontly high , well for me it was around Rs.5000/- this also

was told by my astrolger that the amount would be in the range of 7000/-- to

8000/- but this pujari was the one from who we conduct our rudri pooja at

trimbak every year ,

i would suggest you that u consult ur astrologer for the time for pooja to be

done find a good pujari thru some reference who is based in trimbak (they r

specialists there ) avoid being there during sravan month and check out there

will be khumbh mela in some time (probably 2003) find a time when it would be

peaceful there avoid weekends so that u can avoid rush and pujari can

concentrate on ur puja.

Dear Natabara,

What kind of spirits would these serpents of a higher class be?

I have a personal interest, as it seems I qualify for the curse having Gemini

lagna, Jupiter (badhakesh) in 8th in kendra to Rahu (which is in the 2nd).

Thanks

Best regards

Maddalena
