Although I am here going to study the Independence chart of Venezuela, we have to first see the general context to it. Cristobal Colon as we know the name well in Latino America, because we are told in schools to celebrate every year the 12 October 1492, when Colon “discover” America. Although this fact is now disputed due to recent findings, that date is still celebrated by “patriots”. There are debates about the Vikings discovering America when they were in Greenland around the 12-13 century, or the fact that scientists have found traces of cocaine and tobacco in Egyptian mummies, suggesting that Egyptians had a connection with Latino America because those plants are native to the American Continent. After the “discovery of America by Colon, we saw a colonization of the American continent. The French took over Canada; the British over what it is call now America, although for us in Latino America, the name America refers to the America continent; the Spaniards took over most of the American Continent; Portugal took over Brazil; and the British, Dutch and French took over the Guyana’s and Belize. Some historians speculate about the origin of the name America, but reference books i Mexico City say that when the Spaniards asked the Maya natives about the name of that land, they were told “Ameriqua” which means among the natives, “In the land of the winds”. And it is interesting to know that some round pyramids were built up in the name of the Wind God. The American Revolution happened in 1777 and soon after the French Revolution came in 1789. In Latino America, most of the people were illiterate and only the priests and very rich had access to books. Those books had the latest ideas of revolution of that time, and therefore only by reading those books, the idea of revolution started in the mind of some people. In that way we see the example of the Mexican revolution, which officially started on 15 September 1810, when Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla (a priest), with the financial help of some rich families, started the Mexican Revolution. We can see that in the main continental land of Latino America, without counting the Guyanas or Belize, there are 17 countries in our days. We can see that officially it was Mexico that was the first country to become independent from Spain on 15 Sep 1810 and the last country to gain independence was Honduras on 26 October 1838. For the chart of Mexico we find Pluto at 24°30 Aquarius and for the chart of Honduras, 24°59 Pisces. This means that Pluto moved some 30° in some 28 years. If Mars or Rahu help to produce revolutions, it is Pluto that has a more deep effect in long-term events. For the horoscope of Venezuela, calculated on 5 July 1811 for Caracas at noon, we get Virgo rising. Mars is in the 3rd house Saturn and Moon are in the 4th. Ketu is in the 6th. Jupiter and Venus are in the 9th Sun and mercury are in the 10th. And Rahu is in the 12th house. On 17 Dec 1819, Venezuela joined New Granada and Quito (Ecuador), to form the Republic of New Colombia. On that date, Venus was in the main period of Venus, and Venus rules the 2nd house (assets) and the 9th house (legal system, foreign affairs etc.) Rahu sub period was ruling and Rahu is in the 12th house indicating losses among other things. Not doubt that at that time Venezuela was not really liberated because it was annexed to Ecuador. The antara or sub sub period was Saturn. Saturn rules the 5th and 6th houses and it is in the 4th with the Moon. The 5th house rules diplomacy and the 6th house rules the Department of Defence. While Saturn in the 4th has the tendency to indicate problems to the government. On 26 June 1821, the Venezuelan army won its independence from Spain in the battle of Carnabobo. On that date, the dasa and bukti does not change as mentioned before, but the antara was of the Moon. Because the 4th house indicates the mentality of the population, and because the Moon is in the 4th and with Saturn, some mental anxieties can be guessed on the population due to that battle. On 24 April 1830, Venezuela was separated from Great Colombia. On that date, Venus main period is still ruling, but it is Mercury sub period that is in function. Here Mercury in the 10th house and as lord (owner) of the 1st and 10th houses, indicate a positive outcome, and because mercury is aspected by Saturn, which as 5th lord aspecting 1st or 10th lord is making a Raya yoga, which is capable of giving power, influence and positive results. Also, the Moon as lord of the 11th (gains) is aspecting Mercury, making that combination like a dhana yoga, giving wealth or gains. On 22 Sep 1830, that separation from Colombia became a final separation. On that date, Venus dasa or main period is still ruling, but the sub period or bukti is Ketu, which as a mokshakaraka planets indicating liberation. Regarding the antaras for that date, Venus was ruling from 19 Aug to 29 Oct 1830. We see a strong Venus in its own house, which as the 9th house indicated a positive outcome to Venezuela. Furthermore, Venus as 9th lord is associated with Jupiter, which is the 4th and 7th lords. The combination for a raya yoga happens when the lords of the corners or konas (1,4,7 or 10 houses) or angles or kendras (1,5, or 9th houses), associate or have a mutual aspect with the lords of either corners or angles. The results of a raya yoga, providing that the combination is powerful or strong, have the tendencies to give power, influence and positive results. In this horoscope, we see the positive results indicated by Venus in the 9th involved in a raya yoga with Jupiter. The next date to be analysed by me is the so-called coup de etat, which happens on the 11 April 2002. I have to say that there is a sambhanda (relationship) between the national horoscope and the horoscope of the leader of the nation. Both horoscopes are mutually related. Also, both horoscopes indicate the trends to the nation. In this horoscope we can see that on 11 April 2002, the national horoscope for Venezuela was ruled by the main Jupiter period. Jupiter as the owner of corners is positive, but for Virgo rising, Jupiter becomes badhakasthana, or an obstructor. Therefore we can see that Venezuela has seen a positive period in this Jupiter dasa that runs from 24 Sep 1992 to 24 Sep 2008, but also some obstructive energies. Venezuela is in the sub period of Venus since 7 Aug 2000 to 7 Apr 2003. As we have seen before, Jupiter and Venus together and in the 9th house are indicating a very positive outcome, which we can see from the positive results brought up by its present president. However, although Jupiter and Venus are the most benefic planets in the sky, there is a kind of contradiction, that in their mutual periods, events become very intense (at individual and national levels). I believe that this planetary combination, and mainly Venus in the 9th house, indicated divine protection to the country and to its leader, and therefore its president survived this illegal take over. In other words, Democracy was saved in Venezuela last month. Then we have that Venezuela is in the antara of Jupiter from 14 Dec 2001 to 23 April 2002, indicating the obstructions from badhakasthana Jupiter but raya yoga from the combination already told of Jupiter and Venus. >From 23 April 2002 to 24 Sep 2002, the country is going to be in the Saturn antara. Saturn as we have seen before, in the 4th house and with the Moon, is likely to bring some mental anxieties and doubts to the general population, and also, because by its own nature, Saturn has the tendencies to delay things, but a lot of learning will come out of it. Looking at the future, after this Jupiter period, we will see the Saturn period appearing for 19 years. Saturn is the most positive planet for Virgo rising, and therefore, although some problems are likely to be seen, i can say to expect very positive results for the country in the Saturn dasa. Rahu in the 10th house has the tendencies to give success, or a positive outcome, and in this case, we see the positive effects. Regarding the antaras for that date, Jupiter was ruling from 16 Sep to 30 Oct 1830. We see Jupiter, which as the 5th lord aspecting lagna lord Mars, form a raya yoga, indicating a positive outcome to Venezuela. Furthermore, Jupiter associating Venus the 9th lord and a raya yoga planet gives stenght to the chart. The results of a raya yoga, providing that the combination is powerful or strong, have the tendencies to give power, influence and positive results. In this horoscope, we see the positive results indicated by Venus in the 7th (in its own house) involved in a raya yoga with Mars (lagna lord) and associating with Jupiter, which in tiome is involved in raya yoga with Mars. Therefore, i can say that this horoscope is stronger that the last one. The next date to be analysed by me is the so-called coup de etat, which happens on the 11 April 2002. Also, in this case, Jupiter rules the 2nd house (assets of the nation like petrol) and the 5th house (diplomacy). The Moon bukti is ruling from 04 Oct 2001 to 03 Feb 2003. The Moon again is located in the 2nd house and with Saturn, we can see how money comes with the royalties from petrol, but how money goes away very easily. The present president was "chastised" by a foreign nation (see below Jupiter antara) because he "has dared" to protect the assets (petrol) of his nation. We have seen last week on the British TV, when the president of Venezuela Hugo Chavez, was saying that he "has the evidence of the intervention of a foreign country in the April take over of the government of Venezuela". The interference of a foreign country in Venezuel can be seen in the Jupiter antara which rules from 23 Feb to 30 April 2002. Venezuela is in the sub period of the Moon but from 3 feb 2003 to 11 Jan 2004, it is going to be under the sub period of Mars. Because Mars is lagna lord and is in the ascendant and involved in 2 raya yogas, with Jupiter and Venus, which also are forming themselves a 3rd raya yoga, we should expect a very positive outcome for the country during the Mars bukti. Democracy was saved in Venezuela last month because we can see a good combination of JuMoJu. or Jupiter dasa, Moon bulti, and Jupiter antara. Not bad to have 2 Jupiters at the time of the take over, Jupiter is Brihaspati, the guru to the demigods, and he can bestow divine mercy. Looking at the future, after this Jupiter period, we will see the Saturn period appearing for 19 years. Saturn is likely to bring austerities to the country but a lot of knowledge. After the Saturn dasa Venezuela has the Mercury dasa for 17 years. Mercury by being in its own sign of Gemini and in the 8th house with 10th lord the Sun, is going to bring unexpected positive results to the country.
