Guest guest
Hi all, As Gordon and I were talking about large general realizations possible from sign and house relationships which are always present, to be realized, so it made me think of this, a like phenom, which I am fond of pondering. I have noticed in many books, when death is mentioned, one of the noticably most common factors in death yogas is Saturn transiting the 8th house. Noticing that, I thought to myself: "So, Saturn transiting the 8th is bad for the first- death. So, it is ALWAYS transiting SOME sign which is 8th from SOME sign, so at ALL TIMES some sign is being hammered in terms of survival because Saturn is in it's 8th. Then this continues roughly for the whole transit of 2.5 yrs, which to me is a significant chunk of time- a pada of a decade. So I look at for example that Saturn in Taurus is 8th from Libra. So I consider, whether true or not, that Libra is having a hard time right now. Libra is the marketplace, libra is the highway. For example, business is not so good right now. Enron is a big blow to confidence in big companies and thus the market in general. Travel went way down remember? That's a blow to Libra, which rules freeways and public open highways etc., where everyone is equal you see, balanced, all sit together on the airplane and fly- no differentiation as to who is who. That's Libra, along with it's alluring elements as Lord of the market, this then would mean that the facade is lifted off the face of the market, and the ugly underbelly is revealed. This is death to Libra, to be not in their chosen clothes- so sudden foreclosure of ugliness like Enron is exactly prescribed and in general it will be a "revealing" time when Venusian things take a hit- ie, some famous model becomes disgraced, and some places which stand for consumerism are attacked, such as the Anthrax Spores sent to the Magazine publisher of America's checkstand smutt magazine, the National Enquirer, or whatever it was... So I watch this 2.5 yr thing, just simply "where is Saturn 8th from", and I let my mind wander interpreting what that must mean, given which lagna it points to. For example: Next comes Scorpio- things which live in caves are killed. Hello Osama. That will be a time of much "discovery" because death to Scorpio means that the dark underground chambers not looked into for 30 yrs must now be opened by the brave, and we have to investigate and bring to light the awful secrets we didn't want to even think about. After, 2.5 yrs of "death to sagittarius". Optimism wanes, people start to feel that there is no point in hope, or aiming, there is more opression felt, less energy is put out therefore to change life, to rise up more. Then death to Capricorn, but this is Suicide, because Saturn rules it, and is in it's own 8th. Capricorn is the jungle, as sixth from Leo it represents that which the big leaders cannot control. It represents the low workers, the masses in some senses, the working class. They come to Leo to commit suicide fighting Leo. This is a placement that invokes times of revolution like movements and anger at leaders- they could be uprisings therefore. So this is one technique I'm fond of pondering. I only related one example each or so... the idea is to dream up unlimited ones- based simply on the sign Saturn is in, and that's it. It's a really fun game, and it's real, and deep, and works. Guest guest
Dear brother Das, Namaste This way of thinking/technique is indeed not new. However I have some '2 cents' reservations: 1. One can't just take it as 'plain' as you describe it. Any sign can be in any of the 12 houses, pointing at various issues with it's ruler place anywhere in the chart, generating different effects in time. 2. Any other planet can be there too (in either signs). Any of Saturn aspects (7/3/10 etc) may also be in effect. 3. Why only death ? what about challenges, lessons and re-generation in the respective areas/houses ? Saturn stand for much more than just death, depending on many other factors in the chart (like the divisions, it's strength etc.) 4. For many configurations, Saturn transit in the 8th from a specific issue may become a pure blessing - not only disaster and death. However death is indeed a blessing for a person suffering from a long time incurable disease. That goes for the living relatives too. 5. Lets do not forget the ruling dasa period under question. Much can happen during a 2.5 years of Saturn transit. Issues starting good turn bad and visa versa. 6. There is a lot more to it ...
