Guest guest
Dear Cynthia Thanks for the kind words . You must have recalled from the time you read mychart that I have a fairly active 12th house :-) Your point is a good one that is that those with the 2nd in 12th may feel they don't have enough wealth rather than it really being the case .Persons posting on these lists presumably have a computer and internet connection (although some might be using a public library) so they are doing better than 90% of the world's population .If we constantly compare our own wealth to Bill Gates we might live a life of disappointment :-) . The 8th and 12th houses tend to be houses of material denial .Those who materially have it all tend to believe their successes in life come from their intelligence and application in this life.Encountering obstacles in life despite our best endeavours causes us to ponder deep .Those who have experienced unhappiness and disappointment are well equipped to empathise with others in the same boat .The learning Some more influenced by tamas may end their life but others more influenbced by Satva may transform it by taking to a spiritual path .In one sense the 8th Lord can be best because generally people have very entrenched behaviour patterns but specifically the 8th Lord governs transformations or the ability to restructure one's life and behaviour . Thus the 8th Mahadasha can be a period in which one's life is regenerated .The 8th house also rules deep ,mysterious, uncommon and esoteric knowledge and research .So a dasha or bhukti of the 8th Lord can be the best time to enquire into spiritual subject matters .In Bhagavad Gita it is said that knowledge of Krishna is the most confidential knowledge .Astrology itself qualifies as a mysterious branch of knowledge . It is important to remember that although the 8th and 12th houses are designated dusthanas they are also designated as houses of Moksha(liberation) which according to the Hindu scriptures is the highest of the four goals dharma(religion) ,artha(econnomic development) and kama (enjoymnet) being the other 3 .The 12th house is the house of moksha specifically so it rules over ashrams, convents ,monastries ,charities and the next life . So an active 12th house can incline someone to spiritual growth .The 1st house rules the body whilst the 12th represents loss of the body .When the body is lost the spirit remains and is eternal according to Bhagavad Gita .So when the dasha or bhukti has 12th house connotations the energies are favourable for Spiritual practises and growth and ultimately emancipation . Generally learning is better when some suffering or material denial is undertaken .The father of Western philosophy Socrates would go bare foot in the Greek snow .Freeing himself from questions of bodily comfort he wanted to ponder the mysteries of life . I noticed on the news the other day that Billy Joel admitted himself to a psychiatric clinic that deals with substance abuse .Often times the wealthy acclaimed and successful people cannot stay on the high they get from performing for their adoring fans and turn to different chemicals to try to maintain the euphoria .Thus it can be easily seen that what many people crave may not be ultimately fulfilling . In conclusion then the moksha Lords should be activated in the house to enable one to be a genuine spiritual seeker .If only the Dharmic Lords are activated it can lead to religion being pursued for material ends . Hope this helps Nicholas - "cynthia novak" <c.a.novak <gjlist> Saturday, June 22, 2002 9:04 AM Re: [GJ] please help!! > Dear Nicholas > > I have found that when the lord of the 2nd is in the 12th the person > struggles to feel abundant.
