Concerning vegetarianism and meat-eating, I would rather say that

meat-eating is a characteristic of the sign of Leo. Thus, a person with

strong influence of Leo will probably be a staunch meat-eater, especially

if 2nd lord (food) is placed there strongly. E.g. my father has Jupiter,

2nd lord in Leo and you wouldn't be able to convince him to not eat meat

even a single day!

 

Though I also have Jupiter there, it is not my 2nd lord, hence I became a

vegetarian without problem and never liked (certain) meat at all in my

childhood.

Dear Dhira,

We cannot assume that Leo is alone the reason for this.

Meat is indicated by the malefic planets, and if the 2nd recieves Argala from

Ketu, then during a dasa related to Ketu the person will change/restrict their

eating habbits.

Re midwife -- no, the moon is not the atmakaraka but is lord of the 10th.

 

Re meat-eating/Leo influence: Very interesting idea, but not applicable in

my case. Venus (2nd lord) is in Leo (5th), along with Mercury, Sun and Ketu.

Venus is in a very tight conjunction with Mercury. Neither is combust but

but both are about 6 degrees from Ketu, which may explain it. Prior to

becoming a vegetarian (college years), I had to have my burgers, etc.

practically charred beyond recognition.
