We are so fortunate to have a type of government where people can take

opposing sides in political matters, and yet live peaceably under a unified

system where diversity is the norm and majority consensus determines the law.

There are differing viewpoints and that's as it should be. The Democrat

Party was created in the days of slavery, and was the party advocating

slavery. They are now a far cry from where they started out, thank heavens!

Let's agree that the melting pot has some interesting ingredients and some of

us prefer one flavor and some prefer another. I debated Clinton endlessly

with others, and none changed their minds any more than they changed mine! I

actually met Clinton and her husband, too.

Lesson to me: keep informed, let each have his/her point of view, vote

for the people who most closely match one's own ideals.
